CARACAS, Venezuela – Police fired tear gas to chase off thousands of students demonstrating in the capital Thursday, a fifth day of protests against President Hugo Chavez for pressuring cable and satellite TV providers to drop an opposition channel.
Some of the protesters threw rocks at police in riot gear when officers moved to break up the rally outside the offices of the state-run electricity company.

These are not "students" in the traditional sense. They are obviously paid corporate shills, because Chavez wears a red beret so real students would never protest against him since his policies are never wrong.

I am not needed to post links on most other subjects as they are well covered, but there are a group of 5-10 Chavez fanboys who are giving DU the wrong idea about the authoritarian lunatic who is destroying Venezuela, so I go where I am needed.

It's a reasonably large campfire, the Yugo apologists out in force.

I still cannot believe people actually think this way.

There were tens of thousands of marchers against Hugo of their own free will and at danger to themselves and a small band of pro-Chavistas wearing red shirts and carrying red flags, ordered to be there or lose their jobs or worse. Its like the SEIU paying people $50 to hold a sign and busing them in, and then accusing the other side of being paid shills.

Did you see the new weapons the Ven National Guards are carrying? Chains with grappling hooks? Like something out of a torture chamber, designed to break bones and rip skin no doubt.
