Nothing new here, hubby came home to tell me his buddy had talked him into checking out the Moose Lodge in Napa California . I went down and found a very nice place, lot's going on for the kids, and after work a couple times a week I got away from our 4 kids to join him in dinner and a drink.
He joined the Lodge and as we moved about he country the Lodge became invaluable when we were lost or needed a safe place to spend the night.
We finally got a home in Portsmouth VA. After a month of moving in, getting the kids in school, he found a Lodge not 2 miles down the road that was fantastic, Olympic pool for the kids with life guards, banquet rooms, very lavish and a one of its kind. Over and above the Officer Club or Chiefs Club on base.
He called me one day to tell me to met him for dinner at the Lodge after work for dinner. I got dressed and drove down to meet him to find he was standing outside the Lodge in a Service packed town . He told me the the Lodge did not allow men or woman in uniform be they any rank in uniform be they members or not into the Lodge. WTF-----
There must be an interesting back story about all this but at this point it was pointed out to me that the Moose were a white only Lodge, explained why a few woman came to my home to check me out a few years ago in Cal. -----
Hubby had gone into the Lodge believing it was service connected and as deaf, blind and dumb received a lesson in life, one he to the end his days refused to believe.
