Chicago man accused of leaving voicemail with death threats at office of Republican candidate for governor

A Chicago man is accused of making violent threats against the Republican candidate for Illinois governor. Scott Lennox, 21, allegedly called the office of Illinois state Sen. Darren Bailey last Friday and left a lengthy voicemail, according to the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office.

“I’m going to skin Darren Bailey alive, making sure he is still alive … and screaming in f***ing pain,” Lennox allegedly said, according to a bond proffer from the prosecutor’s office. He is also accused of saying, “I know where he lives, I know where he sleeps, I know where his kids sleep.” The voicemail message concluded with, “Yeah, that’s right so he better kill himself and if he doesn’t, I am going to kill him,” according to the document filed in Cook County Circuit Court.

The call was traced to Lennox using caller ID and the Illinois Secretary of State Police initially interviewed him. The court document said Lennox admitted to the call. “The Illinois Secretary of State Police deemed (Lennox) was not a credible threat and did not arrest (Lennox) or transport him to any location for further questioning.” However, the case was referred to Illinois State Police, who did arrest Lennox after interviewing him and examining his phone.

Lennox was in court Wednesday, facing felony charges of threatening a public official, telephone harassment and harassment by electronic communications. He was granted $75,000 bond with electronic monitoring, and was ordered to stay away from Bailey, his family and associates. Lennox was also ordered not to post threatening messages online.

It’s not uncommon for threats to be made against politicians ahead of an election, but the US political environment is particularly tense in the wake of the attack on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband.

But I was told that political violence is always performed by Mega-Ultra-MAGA Republicans.

I'm a little bit surprised that this article was posted on CNN -- but then again, Chris Licht is making an attempt to turn CNN into a viable news source.

I don't think it's going to happen anytime soon. CNN came of age during the first Gulf War and all eyes and ears were on it. But that ship sailed during the 90s when they went full moonbat.

Apart from Cuomo, Toobin, and a few others, who else is he going to shitcan? He will always have his leftist moonbats to taint the news.

Read about it via a Chicago Tribune e-mail, but they're behind a paywall. CNN of all places had the only available link. But this story will disappear just as fast as the man arrested outside Justice Brett Kavanaugh's house.

Let's see if it pops up anywhere else other than conservative news sites.

There are a few:

Fox News has it too.

But yeah, the story will likely disappear faster than SharterJoe eats his ice cream.

The biggest difference between this incident and the David dePape incident in San Fran-sicko? Even knowing that the majority of the Dim'Rats in Shitcago are carrying - usually in contravention to the self same gun control laws they hand down to control their opponents - if Lennox and Darren Bailey were dropped into a Thunderdome-esque cage match, my money would be on Mr. Bailey.

Thanks, my friend! I caught the early morning e-mail, probably before the news organizations even knew what to do with. Didn't fit the leftist narrative.
