The website Loudoun Now reports that the jury had been empaneled since April as requested by Attorney General Jason Miyares. Miyares was acting on a request from Governor Glenn Youngkin, who made it an executive order on his first day in office.

At issue was the way the district handled a situation in which a student sexually assaulted a girl at Stonebridge High School in May of 2021. After being transferred to Broad Run High School, he assaulted another girl in October of that year.

In the report, the nine-member grand jury stated that while there was not a coordinated coverup, LCPS administrators were

…looking out for their own interests instead of the best interests of LCPS. This invariably led to a stunning lack of openness, transparency, and accountability, both to the public and the special grand jury. There were several decision points for senior LCPS administrators, up to and including the superintendent, to be transparent and step in and alter the sequence of events leading up to the October 6, 2021, BRHS sexual assault. They failed at every juncture.

School authorities (and local law enforcement?) know a student is dangerous, and respond with CYA instead of taking action to avert further violent crime. Why is this a familiar story?

Was this a "transgender" kid attaching girls in the girls bathroom?

Were this a just world, a barrel of hot tar and some feathers would figure prominently in their futures.

In the insane, Bizzarro-esque world which presently obtains, however...

It's much bigger than most reports:

Loudoun's schools had a “stunning lack” of transparency around the bathroom rape & “intentional amnesia” when testifying about it, a grand jury said today, adding that it might've indicted LCPS' lawyer for witness tampering if such a law existed in VA.

I watched one of the liberal news channels covering this story and they bent over backward to avoid saying that the boy was transgendered and the events both happened in girls' bathrooms.

It says a lot when something an obvious pattern of sexual assault sparked an organized cover-up. These people do not give a damn about student safety. It's laughable for them to pretend otherwise. Chettah wouldn't be fooled.

Following a two-hour closed session to discuss the special grand jury's report on Loudoun County Public Schools administration's handling of two sexual assaults by the same student, the School Board voted unanimously and without public discussion Tuesday to fire Superintendent Scott Ziegler immediately and without cause.

Under the terms of his contract, since he was fired without cause, Ziegler will be paid his full $323,000 annual salary and compensation for the next year in monthly installments. On top of his salary, his compensation includes perks such as a $12,000 annual vehicle allowance, health insurance and retirement benefits. The School Board had approved a $28,000 raise for Ziegler in July.

The special grand jury investigated the school district’s handling of two sexual assaults by the same student, who, after attacking one girl in a bathroom at Stone Bridge High School, was transferred to Broad Run High School where he attacked another girl in an empty classroom. The special grand jury found school administrators prioritized their own best interests over those of the school district and community, blocked transparency to the public, and even attempted to obstruct the jury’s own investigation.

The School Board immediately adjourned following its vote, and refused comment outside the building after the meeting.

How about a special election for the express purpose of firing the school board? But WITH plenty of public discussion.

The school board fired Ziegler, but didn't fire him. He gets his salary and his bennies anyway. Dontcha think the public might have preferred to discuss THAT, members of the school board?

How much is Ziegler kicking back to you asshats? 40-50K each?

Yep, a few palms getting greased is all it takes. After all, they're only the taxpayers picking up the tab.  :argh:

A special grand jury in Loudoun County has indicted former Loudoun County Public Schools superintendent Scott Ziegler on three misdemeanor charges, a week after issuing a scathing report detailing the school district's misdeeds in responding to a sexual assault.

The office of Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares, who had impaneled the grand jury, announced Monday that a Loudoun county judge had ordered three misdemeanor indictments against Ziegler to be unsealed. Loudoun County Public Schools Public Information Officer Wayde Byard was also charged with felony perjury.

Ziegler was charged with one count of misdemeanor false publication, one count of misdemeanor prohibited conduct, and one count of misdemeanor penalizing an employee for a court appearance. The charges carry possible jail time of up to one year. Byard's perjury charge carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.

Considering the political impact, this shouldn't be a surprise. When the heat gets turned up to 250 F., and there's no backup, the obvious critters gotta go.

But let's not let that be a harbinger of things to come. The leftists won't cave unless they know it's an absolute no-brainer.
