LAKELAND, Fla. — A Lakeland husband and wife face aggravated manslaughter charges after the Polk County Sheriff's Office said an 18-month-old was left strapped in a car seat overnight in extreme heat....Sheriff Grady Judd said the couple went to a Fourth of July celebration in Lakeland with three children, including the toddler, and didn't return home until about 3 a.m. Tuesday."The pair consumed alcohol and smoked marijuana while at the party," the sheriff's office said in a news release. When they returned home, according to Judd, Jazmine told Joel to bring the female toddler inside while she brought the two other children inside. He saw the doors to their car closed and assumed Jazmine had taken the toddler inside, Judd said.At about 11 a.m. the father asked one of his children to check on the toddler, and realized then that the child was still strapped inside the vehicle.
MSNBC's Jen Psaki comments blaming Republicans for concerns expressed by the Muslim community about LGBTQ curriculum being taught to children as young as elementary school were challenged by a leader one of the largest Islamic organizations in the U.S. Edward Ahmed Mitchell, the national deputy director at the Council for American-Islamic Relations, said the Islamic faith community is concerned about allegiance to God, not Psaki's preferred politics....He added it was time for "liberal commentators" like Psaki "to accept that Muslim parents are independent, intelligent people speaking for themselves.""The sooner they accept this truth, the sooner they can start addressing the substantive concerns these parents are raising. Then again, maybe they just can't and don't want to address the concerns these parents are raising," he said.
Despite being paid by taxpayer funds and thus being employees of the district’s parents, the school board has rejected poll results showing that parents in the county overwhelmingly reject gender ideology in schools and combining sex education for boys and girls from fourth grade onwards. The Washington Examiner reported on the Fairfax County Public School board‘s outrageous reaction to parents’ opinions and details of the survey:QuoteIn a work session, the Fairfax county school board was presented with a poll showing 84% of parents are against children being taught “Family Life Education” together. It showed, out of the 2,656 respondents, parents overwhelmingly want classes separated by gender. The county’s school superintendent, Michelle Reid, dismissed the survey’s results with the ridiculous remark: “Honestly, the majority doesn’t always dictate, right?” It does when they’re taxpayers and you’re their employee, Michelle.Fellow school board member Melanie Meren was equally flippant. “You know, what if students learned more than my generation did about other genders? I think this is a step towards further accepting everyone and understanding people’s biology. I mean, it’s just straight-up biology.” ...

The Guardian believes that talking about child sex trafficking is too Q-Anon adjacent to cheer for. A movie that celebrates rescuing children from the growing sex trade plays into the dark conspiracy theories that The Guardian fears are animating Right-wingers, so it’s best to sweep the whole problem under the rug.No, I am not kidding. That is their critique of The Sound of Freedom. Too much God, too much concern for children. It might lead people to think that the child sex trade is a real problem and that too many people at the top of our society are unconcerned about it.The critique of Jim Caviezel’s latest movie is truly bizarre. It concedes that nothing actually in The Sound of Freedom promotes Q-Anon (a conspiracy theory about which I have only the vaguest notion, and nobody I know buys into), but since the theme of child sex trafficking plays a role in both the conspiracy theory and the movie, it’s important to trash the movie lest people worry about…child sex trafficking…or celebrate those who bravely stand up to the traffickers.

Daily Caller co-founder Tucker Carlson said Friday the Capitol Police chief told him the Jan. 6 riot crowd was “filled” with federal agents.Carlson obtained more than 40,000 hours of video footage from the riot after Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy handed it over in February. Carlson began airing portions of the footage while he was still anchoring at Fox News.Carlson sat down with actor Russell Brand on Friday and said he was “appalled” by the violence and vandalism seen on Jan. 6. He said the reason he “got involved in commenting on it” was because “the lying about it was immediate: ‘This was a racist, white-supremacist insurrection.'”
Ana Kasparian, a co-host of the progressive "The Young Turks" show, slammed her fellow liberals Sunday for downplaying the risks involved in giving transgender treatments to minors.Kasparian appeared on a recent episode of the Sitch & Adam show on YouTube where she denounced the transgender politics and cancel culture embraced by much of the modern American left. She talked about the phenomenon of "attacks on straight-news journalists who are doing their jobs," and theorized, "The whole point is to intimidate journalists from doing accurate reporting on what’s actually occurring on the ground."
Former law enforcement officials are warning of potential terrorist attacks and a repeat of 9/11 following a Homeland Security Department watchdog report that exposed government bungling that allowed an illegal immigrant on the terrorist watchlist to be released into the U.S. and roam free for two weeks before he was apprehended.According to a report released by the DHS's Office of Inspector General, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) released an illegal immigrant on the terrorist watchlist last year, and due to a lack of coordination, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) took more than two weeks to arrest the individual. The report, which was completed last week, found that after apprehending the illegal immigrant in Arizona in April 2022, the CBP released them “without providing information requested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Terrorist Screening Center (TSC) that would have confirmed the migrant was a positive match with the Terrorist Screening Data Set (Terrorist Watchlist).”The illegal immigrant wasn’t arrested by ICE until May 6, 2022 due to “challenges transferring documentation while planning to arrest the migrant and obtaining GPS data while conducting the arrest,” the DHS watchdog wrote.

I saw part of the Sitch and Adam interview. Her (revised) take on Rittenhouse is also causing the leftist hive mind to go ballistic.
A Prog acknowledging counter-narrative facts? Heresy!!!
