Should we form up volunteer security teams for each district town hall?
Similar to how we handled abortion clinic defense, volunteers in each district with a democratic rep would go to each town hall meeting to protect the rep from assault and maintain order at the meeting.
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x6230080I don't know about this. The last time we had a DUAC! DUAC! callup, it didn't go well. No one showed up.
I don't think the DUmmies will make a very good secret police force, unless these meetings are moved to someone's basement.

12. The problem with that is here in San Diego,
we have roughly 1800 police officers for about 1.5 million people. There may or (more likely) may not be any cops available.
If you live in a place where you can get the police to show up, and they are not right-wing thugs themselves, more power to ya!
DUmmy MindPilot knows all police are right-wing thugs. He's just trying to be a nice guy.

3. meh, maybe just a narrow doorway and requirement of participants to sign in
with proof of ID.... maybe not the 'long form', but a driver's license or library card Let them know they are noted and we might be cross referencing with participant lists from other town halls
No one should be allowed in, or out, of a town hall meeting unless he can prove his mind is right. After all, that's the kind of town hall meetings the jug-eared Kenyan had throughout his campaign, and it worked for him.

4. Bad idea
1) I haven't heard of any situation where the Rep has been in danger.
2) As a civilian, you don't have the authority to "maintain order" at a public meeting.
If he didn't have a long history of deranged posts, you'd swear DUmmy MercutioATC is a Lousy Freeper Troll.

7. There was mention by a congressman about another who was assaulted
It was on Keith this evening. The congressman (or woman) was not named.
And who says a civilian can't maintain order at a public meeting? Is it necessary to call the police to tell someone their time is up; let someone else talk?
Sometimes a presence is all that's necessary.
Keef, who, along with the carpetmuncher, is our only source of The Truth, again tells the DUmmies about this imaginary socialist.

13. great idea. and wear a brown shirt to distinguish yourself when you are "maintaining order"...
or better yet, let those in charge of maintaining order do their jobs.
I doubt DUmmy 1 is with us any longer.
