I got as far as "deadening agent".  I've had my share of catheters.  Gladly, I'm always unconscious when they put them in.  Not so much when they have to come back out. 

The last doctor asked me if I wanted a male or female nurse to take it out the last time.  I really did not care at that point.

Fortunately she had time to take the needle away before she burst out laughing. Now she always catches herself and says "Little poke now".
