Frank, it was sad that you weren't here  :bawl: It's SO good to see you!  :cheersmate:

I know what you are saying about having to get used to a new format and all that. It does take some getting used to.

I'm really liking it, especially all the smilies and the shoutbox

Oh now, surely you knew I would show up.

Sooner or later.

I've always been the sort of person who shuts off the lights after everybody else is gone.....and thus being the last person to show up at a new place.

Really.  That's my real life, too.

I have been a franksolich fan since my early FR lurking days...Frank, do you still post over there? They are annoying the hell out of me so far in the primary season. If you don't worship at the Hunter/Thompson alter, they jump all over you.

Now, this is the price I pay for not having a workable home computer.  I take great advantage of my boss, posting on HIS time.

So, I MISSED Frank!!

Hopefully you'll be about today, on company time, so that I may see you.   :-)

I'm around, but working on an accounting project here in mid-afternoon.

I hope to get done by tonight, even though the deadline's Thursday.

Well, it could be worse, it could be at CU, where if you don't kiss Ron Paul's butt, they practically MAUL you. :whatever:

Of course I read freerepublic religiously, every day, but post only rarely.

freerepubic is an excellent site, but man, it's like going to the Library of Congress when all one needs is to look something up in an encyclopedia, or going to a Wal-Mart superstore when all one needs is a gallon of milk.

It's awesome, but man, it's just too big.

The same with P-J Comix's most-excellent DUmmie FUnnies on freerepublic; I used to hang out there all the time, commenting often, but then the DUmmie FUnnies got too big.

I'm a small "garden party" sort of person, and the DUmmie FUnnies got to where it was as if one were in the biggest ballroom of the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, and it was packed to the rafters with people; people well-mannered, people having fun, and all that, but just s-o-o-o-o-o-o many people.

In case one didn't know this, there were some days during May and June of 2005, that the DUmmie FUnnies got more "hits," more traffic, than all of Skins's island all put together--and since the DUmmie FUnnies are just a minuscule part of freerepublic, that gives one an idea of how large freerepublic really is.

I do it near the anniversary of my sign-up date every year.

If you notice though, last year, nobody said anything.

Maybe I'm finally becoming famous here; I dunno.

Infamous, maybe?

Bump for the anniversary, as I do every year.

Despite the date at the beginning of this thread, I actually registered here January 2, 2008.

It took a while for anybody to notice I was here.
