If he is that hard up for money, why did he quit the station job at 10-20 hours a week, and not add that to the full time one at the hotel? Wimp, sucky cry baby.
Strange place he works at. Front desk at big city Motels and Hotels is a busy time, But I have never seen a front desk that had no seats for the Greeter to sit in and do the computer work required.
I smell 3 day old fish in this story. One does not stand up in one spot for 10 hours when there are no customers coming in. A lot of paper work involved, or Computer work, who is in what room, how long will they stay, house keeping involved, ----Room 12 needs more towels or heat/air does not work.
Keeping an eye on the switchboard, He says he is alone from 11-7 at night so he also has to keep an eye out for security in the parking lot and handle the drunks, druggies and hookers that cause problems.
Even in a off the beaten path Motel up in dumb f*ck Maine, problems come up at anytime day or night.
Stayed at this Motel with 4 kids and one of the toddlers crawled under the TV. stand and unplugged the TV. Darn horns, bells, and whistles went off from the anti theft device and took 30 minutes to get someone to come turn the damn sound off. People in adjacent rooms pounding on the walls, Kids screaming in fear, the dog, a ST. Bernard we had smuggled into the room barking locked in the bathroom, ------Those were the good old days.
Sounds to me this poster may have what I call a fun job, never know when you will find a dead body or the SWAT Team arrives to arrest a guest or two. I would say this is good training as you learn to read people, see the best and the worse of people, a good job to learn about life and what to expect from others down the line.
This young man needs to chill out and realize that every job he gets is added experience for him, hell even digging post holes for a living is honest work and one learns about the conditions of the soil, how deep to dig them and all about the ground cover.
