To gain 12 senate seats we would need to win all 9 toss up seats, all 5 dem leaning seats, flip the Independent in Maine to GOP and also win one of the democrat safe races. I would love for that to happen but the chances of that happening are the same chances that Ron Paul is the republican nominee

The logistics of Teh Obamessiah taking all of the DNC money and not distributing it to any races downticket, plus the Dems choking through Obamacare (which gets more and more unpopular as time goes on), coupled with the Dems haveing to defend 23 seats (as opposed to 10 Republican Senate seats), and Paul Ryan being added to the ticket--he's very smart, and can articulate a clear vision without a teleprompter--all add up to a bloodbath for Dems on the 6th of November.  A 'political tsunami,' if you will.

Plus, check your math.  I said we'd gain 10 to 12 Senate seats.  The 9 toss-ups plus the 5 Dem-leaning seats equals 14, plus Olympia Snowe's and a Dem safe seat equal 16.  And, we don't know what the next 80 or so days are going to bring--except more Dem desperation.

Weve got one GOP safe seat that was dem, so thats +1

the 9 toss ups are 6 dem 3 GOP so thats +6

the 5 lean dem are all dem thats +5

Snowe's seat is R and its a safe ind/dem so we have to flip to to not lose it

so thats what we need to do to pick up the 12 seats

The Obamatsunami is coming--and it'll make the Bander Aceh tsunami of 2004 look like a pebble in a pool.  The problem for the Dems is that it will go waaaaaay against them.

That's a really important factor here.

It's been a long time, a very long time, since a presidential candidate didn't share some of his cash with the national senatorial and house fund-raising committees.

Barack Milhous announced months ago that this time, he's keeping all his dough himself (much to the consternation of the Democrat Senatorial Campaign Committee and the Democrat House Campaign Committee, but their complaints got half a sentence in the "mainstream" news media when this happened).

Obviously Barack Milhous figures he's in trouble this election.

And it's not going to help the Democrats running for the House and the Senate.

THAT is an accomplishment. More selfish that clinnochio. At least clinnochio, even though he got shellacked in his mid terms, ran some campaign money into the party.

I don't think he cares about anybody in congress.  He has already proven he intends ruling by fiat in his second term anyway.
