If the SOB pronounced his name like it is in German, it'd be Whiner, not Weener. If the "e" is before the "i," it's pronounced as an "i". The converse also applies.

Yeah, it's kind of an East-cost Jewish 'Thing' to pronounce it that way, I guess since so many of them had German names it was probably to set themselves apart from the non-Jewish German immigrants. Kinda stupid, really.

There were a lot of name CHANGES, but not SPELLINGS. Really stupid on his and his parents' part, especially in view of the fact that he claims he was teased about his name all of his life.
