He's probably in Hell right now trying to tell Satan how best to spend the souls he's earned while drinking all the best liquor and laughing it up with the lawyers.
According to the Bible, "know" means "yes."

So what happens now? Does a special election automatically get called, or does the state legislature swoop in and change the rule back?

Oh, yeah, condolences to his family. I'm sure they, and a lot of libs, will miss him.

As it stands right now it will be a special election in 5 months.  However that could change.

Teddy wasn't getting a lot of support for changing it from his state Dems when he made the request earlier.  Most of them didn't like the idea of changing the law so soon after they had changed it for Kerry.  That could change now with the reality of his death.

I guess they have to cross that bridge, now.

With Liberman now against Health Care socialization, Teddy the Drunk's death means there goes the Dems 60th seat in the Senate.  Now if the Republicans can keep Snowe and Collins on the reservation, Heath Care Socialization is toast

0Bama is going to be giving a statement very soon. Will he politicize Fat Teddy's passing and press for health care reform in Teddy's name?

It will now be called "The Dead Ted Kennedy Watered Down Healthcare Bill." with a special provision for drowning victims.

Just found out. It's up to GOD to decide his fate.

Like I said in another thread...I hope Mary Jo Kopechne was there to greet him.

Other than hoping his family finds peace through this time I can't really say I care.
After what he pulled years ago it's hard to have any sympathy for the man. He helped cut short a young lady's life and he got to live out the rest of his life with comfort and wealth.
I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

Well now, it's only been a few hours, and already I'm bored with this memorializing.

Time to move on.

Kinda bad when you reach 60 seats in the Senate and God smites your ass back down to 59.

It's hard to feel sorry for a drunken reprobate who lived to a ripe old age with vast family wealth at his disposal after a lifetime of legendary dissipation.

They'll probably do the latter like Kennedy wanted.
