This is probably the most objective editorial IN FAVOR of the President's assertion I've seen since this whole flap erupted.

I read the entire police report. Gates acted every bit of a ****ing idiot and got called on it. Here's a hint... when the cops show up at your house investigating a 911 call about a burglary in progress, they don't care where you work or who you think you are. Do what they tell you and STFU.

OK, the more I hear about this I either suspect

a)set up by the neighbor and Gates to cause a racial incident given how foolish Obama is looking at the moment

b)the question should at least be asked why Gates own neighbor didn't know it was him? Is there bad blood between them and the neighbor was being a prick or is this guy so isolated his own neighbor didn't know him by site?

Either way, if the police officer is given a description by the NEIGHBOR, one would think the neighbor could discern the owner from a burglar and the police officer only has a description to go on. I think they are expecting a police officer to be a friggin mind reader and know who lives there to begin with. NOt to mention, given what I've read of Gates it was probably his own beligerant attitude contributed and escalated the situation. BTW, haven't police officers cuffed homeowners before until things get straightened out? Certainly Gates isn't the first one who has had to endure this 'abuse' while the officers protect themselves while they are figuring out who is who and what is going on.
