Is it just me, or is there a complete lack of "public service" in "public servants" anymore?
I lived in Illinois when George Ryan was Gov. As has already been stated, Ryan's corruption harkened back to his days as IL Sec. of State. Selling CDL licenses was something that apparently he found of interest.
So Blago takes the helm and is going to "clean up Ryan's mess."
Uh huh.
Digging into Ryan's predecessor's info just a little bit, Jim Edgar was also tainted by scandal. Apparently one of Edgar's largest campaign contributors was granted a "sweetheart deal" that bilked Illinois taxpayers to the tune of $20 million in overcharges.
I'd say that Blago was merely carrying on in proud Illinois tradition! His sole focus is himself, just like his predecessors!
And I haven't even mentioned Otto Kerner, Jr.!
