Ann Romney says in an interview, “We’ve been looking at that and I love that option as well.”

Ain't going to happen....Oh he may take on a female vice presidential candidate but the MSM and DUmmie talking heads will not allow her to be elected. NO WOMAN will ever be allowed to hold an elected office higher than what Hillary Clinton has held.

I really like the idea but I keep getting a bad taste in my mouth from what happened to Sarah Palin.  I prefer going for either a black vp or hispanic vp.  I think that will open up more doors than a woman.

She is female and hispanic. Her grandparents also immigrated legally to the US.

She also converted to republican in the mid-90's or when she was in her mid-30s.

I've read some on her though and she said she wasn't running and she does seem to have had some conflicts over the years with some of the rules. I mean they were many times to be fiscally responsible, but it's the same manner of bucking the rules that dems have done and we didn't like so it would reveal some inconsistencies with our positive to accept how she does business down in NM, but like I said I've only read a little on her so I'm sure I haven't looked into it as extensively to know if that's fact or fiction.

If he chooses a women running mate, it better be a good one because he will be toast other wise. She will be raked through the coals, maybe worse than Palin was/is.

Maybe we could talk Col. West to go the transgender route.  I bet he would be better looking than Moochelle. At least his ass would look better (not that I've checked it out).

If he picks a woman, she better be tough as nails cause the sorry Democraps, liberals and media will come after her hook, line and sinker. Joe Biden is the dumbest shit that has ever held the VP office but the media gives this retard a pass every time he makes a flub up.

There has been a lot of buzz about Kelly Ayotte of NH.  While I am glad she is a Republican and a Senator from NH, she would not be on my list for VP.  Her main claim to fame is as an attorney general who succesfully prosecuted a cop killer.   She would be a very bad choice IMHO (and was not my first choice for senator btw).

Along with marching in the Wolfeboro parade, there is also speculation Mr. Romney may have held auditions for a running mate during his New Hampshire vacation. At least two potential vice presidential nominees–Ohio Senator Rob Portman and New Hampshire Senator Kelly Ayotte–were in the Granite State at the same time as Mr. Romney fueling chatter they may be meeting with him for an in-person vetting session.

I seriously doubt Romney will select a female as his running mate.  There is no one that makes sense at this current time and in this current political landscape.  He will not touch Palin and Bachman is too polarizing.

The only one that makes a little sense is Martinez.  She is a fine governor and has a promising political future, but too young and inexperienced.

My guess is Romney will go with Rubio.  It makes perfect sense.  He could deliver Florida, which is a pivotal swing state, is extremely popular within the conservative base, and will deliver a percentage of Hispanic voters, which is also critical in this upcoming election.

Also keep an eye on Portman.  Not a sexy pick, but could deliver Ohio, another huge swing state.  And unless I am mistaken, no candidate has ever won the presidential election without taking Ohio.

Why?  What makes her so polarizing?

The Gov. needs to stay where she's at.  Legislatively...Red state Governors may be the only option we have left to blunt the Imperialism of the left.

My guess is Romney will go with Rubio.[/quote]

Why?  I have issues with his stance in immigration.  And the left will rake him over the coals if he speaks out on this issue since teh WH is saying what they've done with their Amnesty plan is copy what Rubio called for.

Republicans and Conservatives thought Florida was a lock in 2000 because Jeb Bush was the Governor and could deliver for his brother.

History shows otherwise.  Nothing is ever a lock.

What does Portman bring to the table other than being Bush's OMB guy and responsible for NAFTA?

Those are two things Obama would hang around the neck of the Romney campaign like a noose.

Besides...Portman holds down a Senate seat in a swing state...we need him there.

I'm not trying to be a wet blanket here...I'm just looking at things realistically and how the media and the left will eviscerate some of these people that are popular VP picks on chat forums but have some flaws the left would love to expose.  Everyone's got them...but things like what I mentioned above are things to consider and think about whether they can be blunted by the GOP.

Romney's weakness, to me, is foreign policy. Condi Rice? She said no way, but it'd be an interesting choice for a short list.

Patience attains all that it strives for.

God alone suffices.

Condi has said many times that she doesn't want the job...BUT if I were Romney, I'd give her a call and ask her to advise me from time to time on certain subjects.

Agree that each candidate has his strenghts and perceived weakness that Democrats would exploit. There is no perfect candidate. Reagan was not perfect. In my opinion, I think Rubio is the best of the bunch because he will pull in many Latino voters. It would be a sense of pride to have one of their own as a VP. Same old, same old with Obama energizing blacks voters.

I rarely trust what a politician has to say on the campaign trail. Romney if elected will have to deal with Congress. Reality sets in when a new Prez is sworn in, and some of those stances taken during the campaign such as immigration May never see the light of day.

I just don't know about this woman idea.  The left says they're all for women, and that Republicans hate them.  But, look at what they do to female candidates, when they're conservative!  The meanest, nastiest creeps in the world.  They practice the worst double standards.  You'd think more people would see through that crap.

I don't think it'll happen, but - what if the choice was Condoleezza Rice, although she says that she's not interested in politics.

Romney needs to pick someone with legislative experience. That's why I keep hearkening back to Portman or Kasich. preferable kasich.

West would be a good choice. He could outsmart, out think and out debate Biden 9 ways to Sunday.

Spare me seasoned politicians like Portman and Kasich. Need some young blood in there with new ideas and some spunk. Portman is boring as hell and a Bush crony.

Rubio is my first choice because he could help Romney with the Latino vote. He also might help with younger voters and would balance the ticket (young with an older Romney).
