Oh my.

Obviously none of the primitives at this campfire have had dental care as practiced in the socialist paradises of the workers and peasants, but that doesn't stop them from demanding "free dental care for all."

Whatever.

How miserable can dentistry get? I just have to rant... this is contemplation under painkillers

Explanation in case anyone gives a sh** --

Upper right Molar tooth #2 starts to hurt last August

Regular dentist sees nothing on Xray and refers to endodontist.

Nice guy -- makes me very comfortable and treats with root canal therapy on 9/5/07

Tooth is on and off painful for several weeks.

Endo guy puts me on prednisone, thinking it is ligament irritation or inflammation

I keep complaining -- can't get the God Damned thing to quiet down.

Endodontist took out gutta percha and put in calming medication (calcium hydrochloride) and left for a while which made it feel a bit better

Next step "final filling" November 07

More pain on and off throughout December.

Three consults later with three different dental specialists -- original endo guy, perio guy, second endo guy, they all think it's a fractured tooth but can't confirm on Xray.

Original endo guy now plans to put in more calcium hydrochloride on 01/22/08

Nobody really knows but all think the tooth has a fracture and won't survive. Or it could be another canal or canals or diffuse tubules.

I'm exhausted and willing to do anything at this point. Meanwhile, I try to live each hour.

Maybe the radiological femme primitive should check to see what Fidel can do for her, down there in Cuba.

6. None of my business, but gosh that must have been expensive!

That on top of the pain is just horrible. I have had a lot of tooth problems, and they always seem to cost me the earth. I believe National Dental Care is a must. Do we have a candidate that is for this? I mean, really, we really need this. Sorry for your pain.

21. Yes, we do have a candidate for dental care - Edwards.

A couple of primitives put in plugs for John Edwards, but mostly the primitives gibble-gabble about dental experiences.  The primitives can actually be pretty good when discussing anything BUT politics.

For the record, franksolich has never had dental problems, and to this day has all of his original (adult) teeth--minus the four wisdom teeth--all white and shiny, no cavitities, no fillings, no crowns, no whatnots, ever.

I dunno.  Maybe smoking marijuana makes the teeth go bad?

You know, I forgot to say something, and wanted to put it in before I hit the sack for the night.

As we all know, the primitives on Skins's island make a big deal about "preventing" pregnancy.

The primitives are really big, on preventing pregnancy (and employment).

However, it's always struck me as peculiar that the preventative primitives don't, really, try to stop other things from happening, such as getting bad teeth from using methamphetimines or getting obesely fat from dining on conveniece foods or rendering the liver useless by emulating the Bostonian Drunkard.

It's just really odd.

One wonders why the primitives don't see a similarity between preventing pregnancy, and preventing bad teeth?

Why trouble to prevent one, but not the other?

The minds of the primitives, small as they are, are a wonder to behold.

Socialistic dental goes right in step with socialistic medicine/healthcare, so it was a matter of time before it was said.

You're right about preventative care, Frank. Going to the dentist to get your teeth cleaned is about $60-$100, and the DUmmie who is having the tooth problem has probably paid at least 15 times that much already, even if they are insured.

You're also right about their lack of consistency with their thoughts, although I am surprised that they advocate preventing pregnancy. I pretty much thought they were wreckless and irresponsible about that and just didn't give a damn one way or the other.

Well, I'm betting the "average" primitive who isn't yet over the hill--that certainly narrows it down--has a stock of IUDs and condoms, but doesn't own a toothbrush, dental floss, and toothpaste.
