We are back from a 2 week break from school (thanks, year round school).  When we left, I hadn't looked ahead to see our first day back was Columbus Day.  Did a quick search for some related activities for the day.  Found a short paper on Columbus, what he did, and some of the controversy about celebrating the day.

So far today, most of my 7th and 8th graders have NO IDEA who Columbus even was.   :argh:  Usually blame student ignorance on the students and the parents, but to me this is a failing of the schools and society in general.

That's my Columbus day so far.   :cheersmate:

Every once in a while Columbus Day occurs on my birthday. This is one of those occasions and the next one occurs in 2027.  :whistling:

Good one Ralphie!

And the plywood box, last I heard,  was still not removed from  the statue!   :argh:

Happy Columbus Day to you as well.   :cheersmate:

Columbus Day kept me in basic training 1 more day in 1980.  That meant we had to make our beds, square away the barracks room and stand in formation one more day that didn't count as a training day

If that's the case then my phone is confused. It calls today Columbus day and Indigenous People's day.

Indigenous people, my ass.  We should give thanks every day to the Spanish Conquistadors who followed Columbus, destroyed the Aztec and Mayan "civilizations" with their abhorrent human sacrifices and converted a continent to Christianity.

Glanced at my 2021 Page-A-Day calendar and it still says Columbus Day (USA) and Thanksgiving Day (Canada).  Perhaps the maker of this product hasn't gone full woke-tard yet.

Today is also National Coming Out Day so your products aren't woke enough. That's right, the alphabet soup crowd ranks higher on the leftist ladder. So move over racist explorer guy and those people he abused there's a new group to celebrate today. Now kneel at the rainbow altar.

"Perhaps the maker of this product hasn't gone full woke-tard yet."   Good to hear!

Our  Edward Jones calendar  lists Columbus Day (USA)  and Thanksgiving Day (Canada)  as well ...

Good thing (whew!) as most of our family on both sides, live in Canada ...

And as Mr. ABC & I are the only Naturalized American Citizens living here ...

Else we would forget all about their Thanksgiving Day!

Apparently it actually was "National Coming Out Day", which Creepy Joe focused on as well as "Indigenous People's Day".  I didn't get that memo about these weirdo fake occasions.

There is a Facebook group for the Conservative Cave (I know some of you disdain Facebook anymore, it is just a way for me to keep up with my college & high school friends, as well as promoting my business).  A number of the "old-timers" from here are in the group who don't participate here frequently anymore.

Anyway, was in a jaunty mood last night and posted that in honor of "National Coming Out Day", declared that I was coming out as completely, unabashed, and utterly heterosexual.  And I'm a white, conservative, Christian male as well.

Why does the white man get all the blame for killing Native Americans? Mexicans killed a boat load of them in the south west, west and the deep south.

It's our fate and destiny to assume all the guilt for all the woes done in this world.

Serious question, Mexican or Spanish?  I know many Spaniards were rough on Natives, but moonbats consider them evil white people.  Mexicans would likely be Native themselves, at least part, by the time Mexico became it's own country.

That's really irrelevant. We are held responsible for slavery and the treatment of Native Americans because we are white and live in this country. Mexicans of today should be held responsible for slaughtering the natives of Mexico and of what is currently the western US.

I, also, am white, was born in England, and live in this once wonderful, freedom loving country :(  ...

And absolutely refuse to accept being held responsible for what my ancestors did! None of us living here today should!

What's more, I blame everything that is intentionally being done to cause dissention between the races, bringing down, & attempting to destroy, the country, clearly  on the present day Democrat Party.

The leaders of the party (and I don't mean Biden) ...

Must first destroy what we have,  in order to "Build Back Better!"

May they all eventually burn in Hell!   :argh: :argh: :argh:
