Title: Muons
Post by: Workover on April 08, 2021, 12:38:52 PM
“ Preliminary results from two experiments suggest something could be wrong with the basic way physicists think the universe works, a prospect that has the field of particle physics baffled and thrilled.

<snip>

If the results do hold, they would upend “every other calculation made” in the world of particle physics, Kaplan said.”

We, as humans, have no idea of want we don’t know that we don’t know.

We, as humans, have no idea of want we don’t know that we don’t know.

Yet we know climate change is real and the science is settled. This I know because Al Gore told me so! *end sarcasm*

The idea of a 5th fundamental force has some pretty mind blowing implications.

Obviously, we don't know everything, but we know quite a bit.

Yet, if the existence of a 5th force becomes more likely, everything we do know - or thought we knew - would have to be re-examined in this new light.
