They still believe Rather & Mapes. The only reason they can't believe the original Fitzmas story is that Karl Rove is still wandering around in freedom over 12 years later.

This attitude goes all the way back to "The West Wing." This was the hit TV show during the Bush years where Liberals were president and Liberals always won. DUmmies drowned themselves in this fantasy to stay sane for the 8 years of their Bush derangement (didn't work).
The moral of my story is that the Left would rather embrace fantasy and lies if reality is too harsh. We see it every time. Even when they are in power, they pass laws that do nothing to fix a problem and say, "Well, we have to do something!" The problem never gets solved and the Left uses it to fund raise and stay in power.
