Hi. Political noob here...
« on: April 25, 2009, 05:01:49 AM »
Hello.I am a political newbie from Alabama. I got involved with politics during the 08 primaries and discovered that I agree strongly with conservative principles. They just make sense. I have a lot to learn, and I am looking forward to many discusions!

I'm glad you found us.  We are a rowdy bunch.  Don't let some of our antics scare you away.   :-)

As for learning, the first thing to learn is that "conservative principles" are far more than mere principles.  The foundation of conservatism rests on the indestructible footings made up of nonnegotiable truth, facts, and history.  There are no weak areas.

Welcome. Pull up a comfy chair and prepare to have fun and learn a lot.

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle
