PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. —  A federal agent was gunned down outside a Pembroke Pines post office Tuesday, and authorities say the shooter is on the loose.

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection special agent was killed after he got into an argument in the parking lot, police spokesman Brian Davis said. The other man then pulled out a gun and fired at least one shot.

The gunman then took off.

The suspect is a white male, possibly hispanic, 45-55 years old with a full head of gray hair and wearing a green plaid short-sleeve shirt. They are also looking for a grey/green late model 4-door Chrysler

With Florida's "no retreat" laws, it's possible the Agent made a move that indicated or threatened great bodily harm or death. Did the agent come up against someone legally carrying and that person defended themselves ?? Or is it more possible that we have an illegal alien with an illegally owned gun that was afraid of ICE ??

Last I heard, there was a possibility that the agent's 13 yo daughter was with him.

This sounds like the latest in the kind of killings the Illegals have been threatening to do. I was told by my mom that one of the people we know that has been a border agent for years is quitting because of all the death threats against him and his family.

This line caught my attention.  Added to the fact that his daughter was there tells me that Officer Pettit was off duty, and probably not talking/arguing with the perp in any official capacity.

Makes me wonder what really was going on...
