Anyone can pay more taxes than they have to, there's been a line on the 1040 for years for "contributions".

I think they collected $112 million last year...

Simplest plan for tax reform.  The Fair Tax.  Talk about expanding the tax base!  All the illegals, dummies, drug dealers, prostitutes, the whole nine yards would start paying taxes.  And it would take the power out of the politicians to give favorable tax breaks to their donors. And it has has a rebate, actually a prebate, so the poor, poor, pitiful poor dummies would not have to pay anything for the food, shelter, etc. And it would tax the goods made in other countries... which are currently not taxed.

Dummies and liberals do not like it though. The facade is that it is a conservative idea and the rich don't pay their "fair share". The real reason is that it takes the power out of the dem politicians to scream tax breaks for the rich to their base.  The GOP, and the dems pols do not like it cause it takes their power away.   What it does do is force the federal government to live within its means or raise taxes on EVERYONE.  Not to mention no more going after criminals for tax evasion.

How about making it mandatory that those who yell and scream and campaign for public office on the premise that taxes are too low, fork over "fair" shares if their own wealth?
