I've been listening to Mike Garson, Oxnard Sessions Vol 1. I picked it up at a used record/Cd store while on my "stint" of jury duty...........for 2.99.
One of my favorites tracks is "Wind Beneath My wings". Mr Garson is an audio fanantic, and it shows in his recordings. The detail and depth of the soundstage is excellent. It probably has one of the deepest I've heard in a long time. The drum kit sounds, at times, well behind the wall behind my speakers. Brushed cymbals are exquisite. You have to hear it to believe it.
It's not often that I find an "audiophile" recording that actually has music on it that I want to listen to. But this album is a joy. The music is very "organic" and elicits strong emotions. Good stuff.
I'm going to buy his album "Jazz Hat". It's getting rave reviews.
