The Great Bacon Odyssey: Bacorn Dogs!
« on: September 30, 2010, 10:07:30 AM »

Mmmm, Bacon.

A corn dog made with bacon wrapped around the hotdog.  Hm, why not make it a true breakfrast meal and use a sausage link wrapped with bacon then dipped in pancake batter?

But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

When I was a little kid, we didn't have a lot of extra cash and ate on the cheap more often then not.  For special occasions, my mom would cut a slit in a hot dog, stuff it with cheddar cheese, wrap in bacon and broil.  Holy moly! Talk about comfort food.

Oscar Meyer started selling cheese-filled hot dogs about 20 years ago.  I've never had one but it doesn't sound very tasty.  Not unless they used real cheese, which they probably didn't.

It really was.  I am so afraid to have one now, because I am worried about having a heart attack right there!
