The comment section is a better read than the article.

State Senator Proposes Dissolving City Of Detroit
November 28, 2012 11:08 AM
.LANSING (CBS Detroit) - It would no doubt be controversial, but the idea of dissolving the fiscally struggling city of Detroit and absorbing it into Wayne County is being tossed around in Lansing.

WWJ Lansing Bureau Chief Tim Skubick reports some state Republicans are talking about giving the city the option to vote itself into bankruptcy. And mid-Michigan Senator Rick Jones said all options should be considered — including dissolving the city.

I get this mental visual of Detroit being plopped in a glass of water like an Alka-Seltzer and dissolving in a morass of fizzy bubbles.

How would disolving it into the county work?  Who's going to come up with the short end of that stick?

I saw what I thought was a Detroit Thanksgiving Day parade on TV.....I guess it was more of a "Going Away" parade.

Yup. All those welfare burdens which were once the responsibility of the City of Detroit, will devolve upon the shoulders of Wayne County, Michigan.

Ug...as someone who lives in Los Angeles County, that's a scary thought.

Calif has already had four cities go belly-up recently, more to come I'm sure.

Dissolving the city of Detroit changes nothing.

The burned out wrecks of crack houses still remain.

Corruption, graft and greed still characterize the Detroit political class.

Normal folks still resort to vigilantism since the cops are nowhere to be found.

All this would do is spread the pile of shit that is Detroit into the rest of Wayne County, which is considerably bigger than Detroit itself.

Detroit: the turd that keeps on circling..................for over 30 years now.

I'd like to share a revelation that I've had during my time here. It came to me when I tried to classify you and I realized that you're not actually human. Every human on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with the surrounding environment but you liberals do not. You move to an area and you multiply and multiply until every natural resource is consumed and the only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Liberals are a disease, a cancer of this planet. You're a plague and we are the cure.
