'PIMP' SLUR ON CHELSEA

February 9, 2008 -- WASHINGTON - Hillary Rodham Clinton threatened yesterday to pull out of an upcoming debate hosted by MSNBC after one of its correspondents said on air that daughter Chelsea was being "pimped out" by the campaign to win votes.

"I, at this point, can't envi sion a scenario where we could continue to engage in debates on that network, given the comments that were made," said Clinton's spokesman, Howard Wolfson, calling the comment "beneath contempt."

Correspondent David Shuster made the remark Thursday night as he and others were discussing on air how Chelsea Clinton, 27, is taking an increasingly active role in the campaign.

"Doesn't it seem as if Chelsea is sort of being pimped out in some weird sort of way?" Shuster said.

Chelsea's efforts on behalf of her mother have been generally well-received, and MSNBC scrambled to patch things up in hopes of salvaging the debates, which have proven enormously lucrative for the networks that host them.

The remark was a little over the top although the liberal reporter was probably joking. He apologized so that should be the end of it; but no, everyone acts like he was Jack the Ripper. I don't like this turkey but political correctness is so much bs.

They suspended Schuster from all NBC channels.

ANd watch for the tinfoil to come out on this one...until 2006 Schuster worked for Fox.  :rotf:

Why did they suspend him? Because it was "disrespectful"? Well, what about when B.J. Clinton pulled down his pants in front of Paula Jones? Wasn't that "disrespectful" too? Well, what else can you expect when PMSNBC and the lib media is pulling for her Royal Thighness anyway?

I'm torn here.

I think the comment was out of line (I'm the daddy of daughters), but the sentiment was not too far off. Chelsea should be off limits unless she enters the arena. She has, so it's ok to comment about her. I think, however, the comment was a little over the top.

Because it was a little over the top, of course, it gives Hillary the opportunity to play a victim card, so she can make the most of it politically--ironically, once again using Chelsea for her own political gain.

I have a bit of a soft spot for the girl...she was a teenager when she was the victim of the most public adultery case ever hit the presses. Her parents put her through hell. That she's not some kind of freakshow a la Underground Panther says something about her character.
