Atman (23,862 posts) 68,000 jobs ADDED, not 750,000 jobs LOST.Last edited Fri Jun 1, 2012, 07:22 AM USA/ET - Edit history (1)Is 68,000 a great number? No. But it is still a POSITIVE number, unlike the massive hemmoraging of jobs under W. It is important to keep this in perspective while wringing your hands. The media won't frame it in any sort of positive light because it doesn't serve their interests to do
girl gone mad (19,957 posts) 36. How can this be explained any simpler? The economy must create 150,000 jobs per month just to keep even. Anything below that is, in fact, a net negative for the employment level.
Lionessa (1,952 posts) 21. Additionally that 150K needed is an average, so let's consider which months there are graduatesentering, or wanting to enter, the workforce en masse..... May - June. So it's probably even worse for May and we'll see about June than those averages you mention show.
I went to the link and it seems that the others have given up on getting him to see the point and are just trying to humor him now and what Atman concludes from that is that he won the argument. Atman: meat, from the neck up.
Really, Atman, what particular single month during the Bush Presidency were 750,000 jobs lost? Or are you comparing apples and oranges, here?
That was my question, too. What was this "massive haemorrhaging of jobs under George Bush"?When did that happen? How'd I miss that?
We allow 1 million legal immigrants a year to enter the country not counting the illegal immigrants. Stop all immigration until we have a labor shortage....and oh yes, cut off all welfare and other government freebies before restarting immigration again.
Attrite (deport) the remaining illegals when they come afoul of any administrative or legal entanglement. They are the proximate cause of any infraction they are involved in.For repeat deportees, drop them farther and farther away from our border until they don't return.
