Went right in the circular file. 12 years of messing with her has really beefed up the tolerance level I guess.

what I got out of that video is that muslims beat their wives as a way to show they love them.

For the sake of clarity, the "sociologist" uses the word "gently". That word is not used in Surah 4:34 of the Qur'an, though it is added in some translations as commentary. I haven't read that part of Surah 4 recently, but I don't think any form of the word "love" is used there either.
