Title: DUmmies urge Bill to get some rest
Post by: lastparker on January 23, 2008, 09:39:53 AM
While wandering about the island, I saw a fairly busy thread about Bill Clinton falling asleep during the MLK speech yesterday.  Knowing that the DUmmies are ripping each other apart because their loyalties are fairly split between Obama and Hillary, I was hoping for some great, maybe even funny, posts.

Alas, Bill will always be their common hero, and the defense of his napping is fast and furious......

37. I read that when he was in the White House, he only slept about
4-5 hours a day. No wonder his heart got sick. SLEEP, BILL!

24. I know how he feels, I was that way for sometime.........
my sugar levels were way out of whack. I couldn't nod out at the drop of a pin, especially when someone was droning on and on.

28. Were there many others sleeping or just Bill?

Cause it's OK as long as someone else did it too....especially a black person.....  ::)

31. Look at the color of his hands--is he ill?
His face is rosy, but his hands are grey--even the one next to his face. Is he having heart problems again? He should take a break from campaigning and rest up.

25. Hilarious
I had to wipe tears from my eyes watching that.....I'm still laughing.
I can't tell you one word that speaker said....

Unfortunately this probably will be blown up into something bigger than it is.....like everything else.

"That speaker" ????  A few primitives take umbrage, but they still forgive:

7. I used to fall asleep in church all the time...
...back when I was a kid. So I'm not gonna go casting any stones at The Big Dog here. That said, it's probably not the best idea to fall asleep during a church service honoring the great Dr King. He should've put a tack in his shoe or something.

I can think of a better place for the tack.....

45. It would be rare in our African American community for
anyone to fall asleep in church when MLK's son was speaking, especially on that DAY.

If they had jet lag they would go outside and refresh before allowing the others present to believe that they were "bored" by the speaker.

I understand jet lag however and he has been on an amazing schedule.

How dare he!  Well...... OK.

49. I think it's disrespectful
to doze off during something like this, however, I admit I've been guilty of not being able to keep my eyes open during things like this.

ANYONE could be up there talking and sometimes I just can't help it. And with the schedule they've been on...

And then some DUmmies dare to speak truth to moonbats:

10. Obama should run this heavily in SC. Political GOLD.
This little video, whether it reflects it or not, reinforces the impression that the Clintons are only interested in blacks for their votes and not the message behind their movement.

14. I know I'm not the first to ask:
Is Bill trying to blow it for Hillary? He certainly is stealing the spotlight.

18. He nodded off while MLK III was SPEAKING!
What a great way to repair relations with African-Americans - not by disrespecting MLK Jr. and his work, but by disrespecting his son during Martin Luther King Day!

The truthiness brings out a tin-foiler...

15. It isn't him.
I saw a bumper sticker that said, "Monica Lewinsky's old boyfriend's wife for president".

Smear job all the way.

And all my trouble only got me ONE funny:

He was not sleeping because he was "tired", DUmmies. He was sleeping because he was uninterested in the speech.

BJ Clinton isn't good at controlling his bodily urges.  I assume Bill fell asleep because he had no respect for what was going on around him.

Do you think it would help or hurt Hillary Clinton's maniacal quest for the White House if Bill Clinton dropped dead today?

Little bit of both. . .  Help her by preventing further gaffes from Bill, but w/o Bill softening her appearance to the press and doing her campaigning for her....we would see her as she really is.

I think the lack of national mourning (compared to President Reagan) would be an embarrassment to the Clinton name.  The jokes would pour forth (about not being able to close the casket lid, etc.), and really, there would be no respectful emotion to indicate a great man has passed.
