In the check out line turn the Enquirer upside down or put a magazine in front of it.
What goes around comes around.

1. Normally anything that would make a working person's life harder I would say no.
But this takes all of 2 seconds to move it back where they are supposed to have it so YES do this whenever possible.

3. I may start complaining about them selling a publication that blackmails people

I mostly shop at Publix which has very right wing executives but tends to respond to customer complaints. During the Reagan Administration I went into one of their stores and they had a big "JUST SAY NO TO DRUGS" banner hung over their cigarette display. I complained about the ridiculousness of campaigning against drugs when cigarettes addict and kill so many people. The next time I went in the banner was gone and withing a year they stopped selling cigarettes from the big open displays.

If I start complaining about National Enquirer, it will be interesting to see if that works - but I am not even sure if they still sell it at the registers any more.

Why are they doing this?
Does the cover paint a leftist in a bad light?

I'm guessing it's because of the story the Enquirer is running about Jeff Bezos of Amazon and his cheating on his wife.

Suddenly, just like that the DUmmies are running to the defense of a megabillionaire who owns a company that many former employees say is run like a sweatshop

Just like molesters and rapists they only care about the AGENDA of the person.  If it is THEIR 1% it is perfectly OK.

Wow! You complained and they removed the banner AND stopped selling cigarettes from the big open displays? Why haven't the dems put your successful complaining to use and saved the world from GloBull Warming and the mean orange man?

I see the cziggy primitive, who got married during the hippie era in a drindl with a flower in her hair, who's lied about her local library, is distorting the truth again.

Sales of cigarettes got more and more constrained during the 1980s and 1990s due to federal and state legislation.  I forget the year, but shortly after cigarette vending machines had been banned, self-service cigarette sales were also banned, and stores had to sell them from behind the counter.

Her whining about the way in which cigarettes were then sold had nothing to do with this legislated change.

They overlook it because they got the same agenda. It is all about the agenda.

It's ok because Bezos is one of them and immune to criticism for his actions even when those actions are the same, or worse, committed by people they hate.

Every other magazine is just as fake as "The Enk." So they would be hiding a lot a magazines with their own standards.
