Craig Benedict Baxam was surfing the Internet from his Army base in South Korea last summer when he came across an Islamic religious website.
The soldier from Laurel had never been particularly religious. But with his deployment and his time in the military coming to an end, prosecutors say, an online article about Judgment Day spoke to him. When he returned to Maryland, they say, he began to make plans to live out his life in a land governed by Sharia law.
He would never make it.
Baxam, 24, was charged by federal authorities Monday with attempting to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization. The 2005 Laurel High School graduate is accused of trying to join al-Shabaab, the State Department-designated terrorist group that opposes the embattled transitional government in war-torn Somalia.
Baxam was detained by police in Kenya as he neared the Somali border last month. He was interviewed by FBI agents in Nairobi and arrested on his return to Maryland last week. ...

What is not to like of this faith for men, a life on earth with all the sex they want, 4 wives at their bidding some 12 years old. One wife get uppity, divorce her take her dowry and get a new wife that is too young to object.
A promiss of an after life of sex with dozens of virgins, wonder how that is fixed when the virgins run out???
This Faith seems to be built on male sex and the benefit of man on earth carrying the sex into the after life.
So Young fella, join this faith, have unlimited sex, send the wives out to work to support you, if all wives are on the rag at the same time, nothing is said about the young boys, woman are for children boys are for fun. No problem with the homosexual laws, those are for those without a wife.
So the converts come a running, Say HOO, what better life then this where there are laws to protect them from living a life that Allah promissed.
About the woman that find this all fine and dandy as they follow the laws written by men, they may have 8 generations of woman folk that had no choice in this life style. Difficult to run from traditions, safety for them to just go along with it.
Big problem for the Muslims today, they move to the West and the woman become educated, their kids go to public schools, new doors opening for the females. Technology and normal no Islamic life calls to the woman.
For each convert to Islam by men there must be 3-4 woman that run from that life here in the West. Once a man gives a woman a washing machine and she drives a car, they need not wait up for her at night.
