Liberal hero, Sean Penn, fully supports and endorses the homophobic and racially charged claims that Hugo is making. What's up DU, speechless?
Sandra Fluke is being sold by the left as something she's not. **snip**However, as I discovered today, birth control is not all that Ms. Fluke believes private health insurance must cover. She also, apparently, believes that it is discrimination deserving of legal action if "gender reassignment" surgeries are not covered by employer provided health insurance. She makes these views clear in an article she co-edited with Karen Hu in the Georgetown Journal of Gender and the Law.The title of the article, which can be purchased in full here, is Employment Discrimination Against LGBTQ Persons and was published in the Journal's 2011 Annual Review. I have posted a transcript of the section I will be quoting from here. In a subsection of the article entitled "Employment Discrimination in Provision of Employment Benefits" starting on page 635 of the review Sandra Fluke and her co-editor describe two forms of discrimination in benefits they believe LGBTQ individuals face in the work place:"Discrimination typically takes two forms: first, direct discrimination limiting access to benefits specifically needed by LGBTQ persons, and secondly, the unavailability of family-related benefits to LGBTQ families."Their "prime example" of the first form of discrimination? Not covering sex change operations:"A prime example of direct discrimination is denying insurance coverage for medical needs of transgender persons physically transitioning to the other gender."This so called "prime example" of discrimination is expounded on in a subsection titled "Gender Reassignment Medical Services" starting on page 636:"Transgender persons wishing to undergo the gender reassignment process frequently face heterosexist employer health insurance policies that label the surgery as cosmetic or medically unnecessary and therefore uncovered."To be clear, the argument here is that employers are engaging in discrimination against their employees who want them to pay for their sex changes because their "heterosexist" health insurance policies don't believe sex changes are medically necessary.**snip**
This is why health insurance costs so damn much... you have people like Fluke ****ing with the system.

Judge Alex Kozinski, United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, writes that Critical Race Theorists have constructed a philosophy which makes a valid exchange of ideas between the various disciplines unattainable.QuoteThe radical multiculturalists' views raise insuperable barriers to mutual understanding. Consider the Space Traders story. How does one have a meaningful dialogue with Derrick Bell? Because his thesis is utterly untestable, one quickly reaches a dead end after either accepting or rejecting his assertion that white Americans would cheerfully sell all blacks to the aliens. The story is also a poke in the eye of American Jews, particularly those who risked life and limb by actively participating in the civil rights protests of the 1960s. Bell clearly implies that this was done out of tawdry self-interest. Perhaps most galling is Bell's insensitivity in making the symbol of Jewish hypocrisy the little girl who perished in the Holocaust — as close to a saint as Jews have. A Jewish professor who invoked the name of Rosa Parks so derisively would be bitterly condemned — and rightly so.[9]

Union leader criticizes mining bill vote by Mike StrehlowStory Created: Mar 7, 2012 at 10:34 PM CSTStory Updated: Mar 7, 2012Milwaukee--Lyle Balistreri wasn't scheduled to speak during Wednesday night's "Reclaim Wisconsin" rally at Serb Hall, but took the stage anyway to lash out against what he called the "ugly partisan politics" that led to the rejection of a mining permit bill.He singled out the 16 senate democrats who voted no including Milwaukee State Senator Spencer Coggs who was also in attendance.Balistreri represents more than 15-thousand construction trades workers in southeast Wisconsin, men and women who would have benefited from the mining reform bill."For the Senate Democrats to vote against this bill is a sign that they're not with us. They're certainly not job creators, and in fact they're job killers. And I'm sick and tired of the partisan politics in the State of Wisconsin. The working people in the state of are taking a beating. Democrats and Republicans are at each other's throats, and this sort of thing has to stop," said Balistreri.State Senator Spencer Coggs told CBS 58 that Senate Republicans were unwilling to make compromises necessary to protect the environment.State Senator Dale Schultz was the lone republican who side with democrats and voted no.The company that was hoping to build that mine now says it's giving up all plans for Wisconsin.
Wikipedia Entry for 'Critical Race Theory' Changed Today—rdbrewerIn the version dated January 31, 2012, the words "white supremacy" and "racial power" appear.QuoteAlthough no set of canonical doctrines or methodologies defines CRT, the movement is loosely unified by two common areas of inquiry. First, CRT has analyzed the way in which white supremacy and racial power are reproduced over time, and in particular, the role that law plays in this process.(Emphasis added.) However, the current version states the following:QuoteAlthough no set of canonical doctrines or methodologies defines CRT, the movement is loosely unified by two common areas of inquiry. You can see both versions on this page. If you go to the revision page, it looks like a little war broke out today, with edits and re-edits. One participant commented that it had obviously been edited to match "Soledad Obrien's empty-headed explanation on television last night."Busted!

‘WE’RE COMING FOR YOU’: WIS. LABOR LEADER CALLS FEMALE GOP SENATOR ‘PIG,‘ TELLS HER TO ’STAY HOME’Sen. Pam Galloway of the Wisconsin State Senate has a not-so-secret admirer. “Admirer†in this case however, might mean “obsessed hater.†His name is John Spiegelhoff, and he’s a union boss with a real penchant for attacking anyone and everyone who he thinks might be an enemy of his union. In fact, his past exploits include suing an 86-year-old volunteer crossing guard for taking a job that he thought should have belonged only to union members. Now he might be on the receiving end of a lawsuit, as some of the emails he’s sent to Sen. Galloway are barely capable of being printed. Media Trackers has a few of the greatest hits:E-mails sent to Media Trackers from a grassroots activist reveal Spiegelhoff regularly harassing Pam Galloway for various positions that she has adopted. In dozens of e-mails sent between May 2011 and February 2012, Spiegelhoff threatens, harasses, and attempts to intimidate Galloway while berating her for votes that she cast in the state Senate. An e-mail sent on August 2011 has Spiegelhoff calling Galloway a “pig†after she was a guest on Wisconsin Public Radio.Calling her service in the Senate “a reign of terror†and characterizing her work as “immoral,†Speigelhoff cast himself as a leader of the recall effort declaring “I am actively working against you.†Numerous e-mails contained threatening subject lines such as “we are coming for you,†and “here we come.†Another e-mail twice contained the threat, “stay home, Pam,†something that could be interpreted as chauvinistic. In August and September of 2011, weeks before the recall petition period could begin for an attempted Galloway recall, Spiegelhoff adopted the line that Galloway should resign instead of face a recall attempt. “I wish elections were right now so you could be thrown out of office. Do the middle class a favor-resign,†one message concluded. “You overreached and you will pay the political price for it,†another intimidating message reads. The harassment concluded with Spiegelhoff demanding that Galloway “[r]epent and beg forgiveness. . . .â€Spiegelhoff’s harassment arguably goes beyond mere political intimidation into outright stalking and obsession. Moreover, Spiegelhoff doesn‘t even live in Galloway’s district, raising the question of why he‘s so focused on someone whose work he can’t even vote against.
Posted by B. Daniel Blatt at 3:34 am - March 8, 2012.Filed under: Gays in Other LandsRest assured with the president’s smart diplomacy, this problem will soon be remedied: Islamic States Walk Out Of U.N. Meeting On Violence Against Gays…(Reuters) — Brushing aside high-level UN appeals for cooperation to halt murder and violence against gays and lesbians around the globe, Muslim and Arab countries on Wednesday stalked out of a Human Rights Council panel to tackle the issue.Speaking before the walkout for the 57-nation Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Pakistan described homosexuality as “licentious behavior†while African group leader Senegal said it was not covered by global human rights accords. The walkout, which diplomats said not all countries in the Islamic and African groups joined, was the first by three major blocs in the 47-member council, which has been dominated until recently by a caucus of developing countries and their allies.Another sign that this Council has become little more than a pathetic joke, with member states unwilling to address a real human rights’ issue. Let’s hope the president and his foreign policy team speak out on the matter and insist that those nations who walked out return to the table — and mend their policies so that gay men and lesbians can live free and openly — without fear of attack from their fellow citizens. Or their government.
owebuma, and his owebumaCare, are hard at work, "bending the cost curve for healthcare down". I wonder if owebuma knows what "down" means.
Speaking before the walkout for the 57-nation Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC)...
Most likely. It's probably the last time he paid attention at school.
