Finally the doctor calls. On a Saturday....
After I have left him messages to call me since Thursday.

They have found some sort of spot on my head scan. He has been talking to a colleague about it who will be at the appointment.

If I was scared before......

Who paid for the MRI?

1. So frustrating for you, I'm sure...especially to have the weekend without answers. However, you need to keep in mind that medicine has moved so far in the last few years. I wish you good news and a good outcome.

2. What? Did he wake up this morning and say "oh I need to call this gal back"?

I'm getting so fracking sick of this....

4. When is your appt?

I've had "the lump that wasn't a problem" dr. conversation, and have had "the lump that was a problem" conversation.

If you can, bring someone with you to that appt. whose job is simply to listen, maybe take notes, esp. of any info. that contains numbers, and who can be trusted to just be there calmly.
It's difficult even for the smartest person to remember everything, esp. in a high anxiety situation.
I was very glad that I had someone with me.

Most things found in scans turn out not to be a problem, according to the docs I saw.

5. The 30th.

Who is paying the medical bills?

8. Going to use this thread to grump...

And he didn't tell me what kind of doctor his colleague was.

Does the spot have something to do with what I'm going through? Is there something else to add to the list?

Why can't I get any answers that don't take forever to get?

12. True. Telling me to report to the hospital ASAP would be bad.

But moving my appointment earlier, saying another doctor will be there, and a spot on the MRI. Well my mind is not very good right now.
And when you add my mom's family history....

All I can do is wait and chew my fingernails off.

:whatever: Just remember- no one in the world is more important than you...  ::)

15. Ya know, you may be right..

Been thinking about what you said. It just a machine, it could be a bad scan

And the technician at the MRI and the place I got my walker from commented on my long torso and short legs....
This other doctor could be some bone guy to just check my skeleton. They could be covering all the bases.

Thinking about something a little less frightening, at least less than what has been going through my mind, helps.

Thank you for helping change my thinking a little

She probably insisted on wearing that eye patch through the whole thing

I think the MRI detected LFR's malignant character.

I didn't know an MRI could image a vacuum.

Who is paying the medical bills?

Go into your bathroom and look in the mirror.  The person staring back at you is who is paying.

I do not understand her multiple feverish posts on "what might be". I had bladder stones removed last week, and the surgeon also removed a tumor from inside the bladder. We are waiting on the biopsy results. I am of the mind that if it's bad news, then we'll deal with it, and if it is not bad news, then we won't have anything to deal with. But constant worry seems to be less than productive.

Maybe it is because I'm 76 and 'things' just don't seem so worrisome any more.

Well, one thing for sure that the "spot" ISN'T is a functioning brain.
