Board Oddities and the Thursday thread
« on: January 03, 2008, 07:55:01 AM »
I find it a bit troubling that I am now a 'full member'.

And what is with the upper left side of the board or post that lists the page #s and then 'go down'. I think Kev's running a smut house here. :naughty: Oops, I mean... :hammer: :-)

So, this is now the day thread..have at it...

Good morning!

I have a couple of hours of peace and quiet. Kid's at school, Mom and the little one have a doctor's appt.

Sweet, sweet silence.

On edit, still a "newbie." :)

God alone suffices.

Morning, Splsh. We are still dealing with bitter cold here. *ugh*

Otherwise, the morning seems to be starting out fairly easy going and quiet.

Kids back at school today...peace reigns once again!!

My poor daughter is gonna be dragging by Tuesday.  She has a minimum, of 4 hours of dance daily for the next 5 days...Sat and Sun are 6 hours each.  School 3 days on top of that.

I think the sickies are finally on the way out of our household...lets hope they stay away!

My kitty looks a bit better this morning. He was walking around some, and sleeping on the couch. Not as uncomfortable looking, but he stilled gagged.  I'm going to see if I can get him to eat something in a bit...with 5 cats, it's hard to tell if he's had anything through the night.

Seems it's gonna be a race between you and Reb to see who gets to 1000 posts first.

I've got money down that it'll be before I get to 100.

Nah, I'll slow up...I just got my course content today and start officially Monday so my time will be sucked dry here before long with my classes.

My post average on CU is somewhere between 3 and 4 per day. I'll slow down again as well starting next week.

Yay Thursday, that's the day before Friday  :cheersmate:  Weather is cool here and a storm is supposed to move it this evening.  I like the rain, but I don't really like driving in it because it makes the traffic horrible.  I'm considering a complete career change, which requires more schooling, so I'm planning register for some evening and online classes tonight.  eep.

Dentist appt later today. I get part of my braces off!  :cheersmate:

And here you thought you were done, Rose. I think it's good to keep growing professionally like that though. Good for you and good luck. My classes start up again Monday. Already got the syllabus for them all though so I guess that means I can start reading.  :uhsure:

Good news...the kitty ate some canned food this morning.  He's sleeping on the recliner in my room, and looks better.  Still gaggy though.

I'm going to hold off on a vet call and see if he continues to improve.

My oldest daughter waltzed in with a basket of dirty laundry, a new hairdo, and her three year old daughter.  Then she announced she needed to "run back" to her hair salon - 20 miles away - to get them to even out her hair.  So, would I empty my washer and babysit her child?

Her apartment washer is on the fritz...she doesn't want me to do her laundry.  She just wants me to get my laundry out of her way.  Something I was not prepared to do or in need of doing.  Oh well.

She's 31 years old, folks.  In case any of you young parents out there think you will get a break one day - forget it.

:banghead: Yep. I saw a lot of that when I was back home visiting my family. I have grown cousins who pull the same stuff. I, on the other hand, am the perfect adult child who cleaned my mother's house while she was at work and cooked meals for the entire family.  :blowkiss:

I did throttle my 13 year old nephew for yelling at my mother to "make him a sandwich now!". Little sh*t.  :hammer:

I didn't mean to sound so put upon.  My daughter is a very sweet girl who would do anything in the world for me.  She's just not much with the forewarning phone calls.

But she is turning me into a stereotypical Jewish mother-type.  You know, "He's a good man.  Why don't you marry him?  You shouldn't be alone.  You're not getting any younger!"

Her first marriage ended.  It was her high school sweetheart.  He was as dull as the sharp end of a potato.  Her second long-term relationship ended.  He was penniless trash with no ambition, no prospects, and a crooked angle,  but "soooo good-looking".  :mental:

Her new beau is a prize.  He wants to marry.  She is resisting because he is "too clingy".  :whatever:

I asked her, "What is it?  Is it because he owns his own business?  Is it because he owns his own house?  Because he drives a nice car?  Because you don't have to give HIM money?  What is it?  You're breaking my heart!  You are driving me to an early grave!"

About the last part, she said, "That is no longer possible."

A knife!  A knife in my heart!
