Prominent Americans Ask John Conyers to Begin Impeachment
« on: January 07, 2008, 01:07:59 PM »
Quote
January 4, 2008

The Honorable John Conyers, Jr.
Chair, Judiciary Committee of the House of Representatives
2426 Rayburn House Office Building
Washington D.C. 20515

Dear Congressman Conyers:

We are writing out of deep concern for our nation. The President and members of his administration have violated, and continue to violate, our Constitution, significant and numerous treaty obligations, customary international law, and laws passed by Congress. However, the federal courts and Congress (even with a Democratic majority) have utterly failed to hold the President and his administration accountable and to put an end to the egregious violations of law and abuses of power.

Bunch of "k-ing" and "r-ing" at the DUmp right now.

aw Come on!

Belafonte did "Day-oh"!

And the lesser known, but no less delightful, "Jamaica Farewell"!  :leghump:

I'm just looking for a reason to post cute smilies.

Why am I not surprised by this list though?
I can see November 2 from my house!!!

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

So um, where are the prominent Americans?
NAMBLA is a left-wing organization.

There's a reason why patriotism is considered a conservative value. Watch a Tea Party rally and you'll see people proudly raising the American flag and showing pride in U.S. heroes such as Thomas Jefferson. Watch an OWS rally and you'll see people burning the American flag while showing pride in communist heroes such as Che Guevera. --Bob, from some news site

I dunno.

I go through that list, and being generally a better-informed person than the primitives, I can identify McGovern, Nader, Clark, Ellsberg, Chomsky, and Belafonte, which is probably about six times more "personalities" than the average primitive can identify.

And Abourezk too, but only because he was once a Democrat U.S. Senator from neighboring South Dakota, no other reason.  Abourezk comes from a family notorious for making a fortune scamming Native Americans on the reservations in that state.

And who is "Mimi Kennedy"?--that sounds like the name of Vast Teddy's pet dog or something.
