Oh my.

The primitive with the large scenting-instrument, who doesn't like we rustics.

Anyway.

Is Maureen Dowd doing more damage than Fox News?

NY Times columnist, Maureen Dowd is doing everything she can to crush Hillary. Although I am not a Hillary supporter, I don't like seeing any of our candidates targeted for destruction by a widely read columnist who is not a known conservative.

When Fox attacks Hillary, it's expected. When Dowd does it on a routine basis, you've got to wonder wtf is wrong with this woman? And since there are many people who read her column, but don't pay much attention to progressive sites like DU, it allows Dowd to have some degree of impact. How much, I'm not sure, but she has a lot of readers.

For years, Dowd was a fairly decent, somewhat humorous columnist who didn't seem to have an axe to grind. More often than not, her columns were about one Republican idiot or another.

But now, she's turned her verbal venom on Hillary with a vengeance. Why? What does she have against her? She never says what her real beefs are. Rather, she throws out snarky comments each and every chance she gets. If Obama or Edwards gets the nomination, is she going to turn her guns in their direction? Who knows?

On edit: Please, please don't turn this into a bash Hillary thread. It's about Dowd.

Historically, the NY Times OpEd page was as enlightened and liberal a place as you could find. They had some of the greatest columnists in the world, and they had William Safire as their token conservative. Today, the only decent columnists they have left are Paul Krugman and Bob Herbert. If one or both decide to leave, there really won't be much difference between The NY Times OpEd page and Fox news.

On edit: Please, please don't turn this into a bash Hillary thread. It's about Dowd.

It's still new, and so a small campfire, but blazing.

1. Maybe she doesn't like Hillary or maybe she has her reasons.

Anti-Murine (It keeps the red in) Dowd has always been kind of anti-women.  She usually likes lesbians, though, to some degree.  You would think she would be in Hillary Clinton's back pocket.

If I remember correctly, Dowd has always wanted to get into Bill Clinton's front pocket.  Maybe that's the answer.  Dowd has been jilted so many times.

I love how he says Dowd doesn't "have an axe to grind" and then says that she attacks one Republican after another.

That isn't an axe?
Let nothing trouble you,
Let nothing frighten you.
All things are passing;
God never changes.
Patience attains all that it strives for.
He who has God lacks nothing:
God alone suffices.

I love it when they turn on each other. Dowdy is such a bitter, whiny feminazi.

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

And the confusion it causes among the DUdders is so much fun to watch...
