I know I've bugged everyone about this comic competition and I really hate being the salesman type, but at this point I'm really desperate. The prize for this is $13,000 and I don't have to tell anyone here how bad things have gotten. I REALLY could use the money. My wife has had thyroid issues for the last year and it's been rough on her to try to work. If I win this, I could be doing something I love, plus getting extra cash that we need.

Please. I beg you guys. Vote my comic up. I really could use the cash. There are only 2 days left in the competition so I need to make a move fast.

People may be reluctant because you need to sign up with the site. But this is only to keep the voting legit. Here's the link again.

     I'm running the following thought through my mind: "Honey, I know you're having thyroid issues, and my first priority is to help you get the healthcare and rest that you need. I know the situation is desperate, but I'm going to step up. All I need is for enough people on DU to sign up and vote for my comic book, and I'll get some money. What's that? Oh...no, I really don't know of any other way to get money."

     If I ran that shit by my wife, she might have a thyroid problem but I'd have a slipper-shaped hole in my ass.

Perhaps that's why you're so unsuccessful. Marketing is important to any business, even artsy ones. Unless wifey has something like Grave's disease (about 10% of those with hyperthyroidism) and has eye problems her "issues" won't prevent her from working. Thyroid issues aren't debilitating, are controlled by medications (generics...the $4.00 category...I know my grandmother takes them), and are very easily diagnosed. Of course, many grossly overweight people blame it on their thyroid. Then again, DUmmies think they should collect disability benefits when they get a hangnail.

It's actually pretty good work.  Not flawless by any means, there are some anomalies in his character rendering.  The plot is typically stupid, but what can you really expect in a comic, anyway.  The pages take a million years to load, the graphics must be at full production printer resolution, I couldn't waste enough time to view beyond page 5.
