Title: What's for dinner tonight?
Post by: Flame on April 23, 2008, 03:27:37 PM
We are having pork chops  (I like to spred mustard on them, roll them in bread crumbs, then bake them.

Not sure yet what we are having with it...probably mac and cheese and some sort of veggies.

Macaroni and tomato juice (don't laugh, it's good).  My husband has a meeting tonight so he isn't going to be home for dinner.

BEG - that's my husband's favorite. And he also likes macaroni and evaporated milk with salt and pepper (I don't though!)

We're having cajun chicken breasts/brown rice/corn

I think the little woman and I shall bebop to the Waffle House when she gets home.  My favorite guy cooks on Wednesday nights.  He gets everything perfect.  Great coffee too.

Then we will take a romantic stroll down the aisles of Wal-Mart.  We need a new bath rug.

Rotis. chicken and baked potato over at my dad's. He is not too keen on veggies so at 98 years of age I give him what he wants.

I had a frozen chicken pot pie and a banana popsicle.   I've not been eating a lot lately since I don't seem to have much of an appetite.

Tomorrow evening I get to go and do my mystery shop at Long Horn Steakhouse.  Yum!  I'll have to check out the menu online as to what I want.  I'm undecided as yet.

Life is so unpredictable.  We drove into the big city and went to Denny's.  Love their Senior's Menu.

Then we went uptown shopping at Target.  Yes, we bought a bathroom rug....and a new coffee grinder....two new FIRM queen-size pillows....a bundle of everyday wash clothes (to replace ratty ones in linen closet)...and I found a shirt and pair of pants on the 50% off rack.

Life is good.

Nutri System has this little flame broiled patty that you can do any number of things with.  It was yummy when I got through with it.  It topped an english muffin spread with low fat cream cheese, with a tomato on top.  Hey..don't discount.  I've lost 17 pounds in just over a month   :-)

Monday I made a pork tenderloin with a pepper crust, with mashed potatoes & southern style green beans.

Then Tuesday I made tuna salad.

Yesterday it was late and I was tired when I got home, so just a breakfast sandwich for dinner.

Tonight is left overs.  :)

Congratulations!  Those pounds aren't easy to lose.

When I was a young man, all I had to do was skip a meal and I was back down to my Mick Jagger weight.  Now it takes weeks to get back in my David Crosby pants.

Chik Fil A. It's been ages!

I had Chick-fil-A for lunch today.  And I went ahead and bought a salad for my dinner. But I'm not feeling very much like eating the salad, I might save it for tomorrow's lunch.

They have the best salads there.  :)

McDonald's introced a "Southern" chicken sandwich.  Tastes just like Chik-Fil-A.  It's even the same sandwich... bun, meat, pickle.

The guy that came up with the Chick-fil-A sandwich, the only thing he had around were pickles.  That's why it only comes with those on it.

Is that what Chik-Fil-A uses?  I think McD's uses corn oil.

How about tuna stuffed tomatoes?  With cabbage/celery/onion simmered in butter and chicken broth? And egg noodles in a creamy butter & parsley sauce?

Cooked some salmon patties for my dad & I tonight. My first try at it and they turned out good. Will make a couple of adjustments next time like draining the liquid off the salmon. Wound up adding more crackers than I wanted to so that the patties would stick together when mixed with eggs. Next time might use crab meat. Yum.
