I think my parents bought one at JC Penney way back when.  Our house had central air, but it probably wasn't very efficient.  I'm sure they replaced it at some point along with the water heater.

My wife's parents just called and said they would buy the new central air unit for us. We have just gotten to the point where we are starting to get ahead financially and having to purchase the unit ourselves would have put us back some.

I have felt very lucky to have such kind in-laws since the day I met them. I've also never met people who are as generous with what they have as they are. I am a very fortunate person to have them in my life. Thank you, George and Snook.

I never witnessed it myself, but I used to hear stories about grizzled old UAW goons from other Ford employees.  They would show up to work wearing a one-piece worksuit and nothing else.  Some of them didn't bother to shower or shave between shifts.
