A couple of millenia ago, all one would have to say was, "Civis Romanus Sum"--I am a Roman citizen. Utterance of that fact would stop most folks right there, because they knew if they proceeded to harm the maker of that statement, the whole fury of the Legions would befall anyone who violated that citizen.
And so it should be today. If someone says, "I am an American," it should be taken to mean that if any harm should come to that citizen, the full wrath, both political and military, will fall on the heads of those responsible.
Sadly, our enemies do not fear us, our friends do not respect us. And this administration doesn't care.
