Either Barry wants this unemployment and recession to continue or he is a freightcar load less "smart" as his followers were touting.

If he keeps up this crap, it is intentional, as not even VP Biden is THAT stupid.

what do you mean "IF?"  It's been intentional since day 1!

Yup; of course, those of us with the willingness to see reality as opposed to drinking Democratic kool-aid knew, even as the MSM were ballyhooing the "drop" from 10.2% to 10% last month, that it was all a mirage.  Now we see the little "corrections" being surreptitiously snuck into place without anywheres near the amount of fanfare that initial, fraudulent report of a drop in unemployment got.

And yet AP Radio news was talking about today how there are signs the economy is getting better.

How can anyone expect private business to have the confidence to increase headcount when you have a Stalinist administration setting policy and a socialist Congress making laws? Unemployment will not decline until and unless the Republicans retake at least one house of Congress.

Not knowing what healthcare reform is going to cost them, not knowing what new taxes, including payroll taxes and possibly even the VAT tax might be enacted, an employer would be stupid to try and expand.

disagree. I think, even then, it will stay high, especially if all of the new taxes and regulations go through. Republicans started this bailout BS, remember?

True, but so far they appear to have been chastened enough - and to have taken sufficiently strong anti-bailout positions contra Obama - that we should be able to make them stick to it once they break the Democrats' lockhold on Congress.

At this point, Democrats want lots and lots of statism, and Republicans want not quite so much statism.

The Republican Party is off in a ditch until someone can present the plan for drastically removing government interference in just about everything while outlining the reasons why that interference is detrimental to our future.  That's why, overall, I agree with bkg's assertion that simply getting Republicans back in charge isn't enough.

It's not if we're just going to go back to our old ways of passively leaving the governing up to the politicians; the one thing we should all have had seared into our minds by now is that politics is not a spectator sport, and if you don't speak up for yourself, no-one else will.  As the old saying goes:  God helps those who help themselves.

It's all posturing. Nothing more. They are not anti-bailout - most of them voted for it! They are anti-Obama because he's a Dem... no other reason. If the roles were reversed, they'd be doing the exact same thing, only slower.

Fawk the GOP and the DNC; they are birds of a feather.
