Deadliest weapon so far... the plague

ANTI-TERROR bosses last night hailed their latest ally in the war on terror â€” the BLACK DEATH.

At least 40 al-Qaeda fanatics died horribly after being struck down with the disease that devastated Europe in the Middle Ages.

The killer bug, also known as the plague, swept through insurgents training at a forest camp in Algeria, North Africa. It came to light when security forces found a body by a roadside.

The victim was a terrorist in AQLIM (al-Qaeda in the Land of the Islamic Maghreb), the largest and most powerful al-Qaeda group outside the Middle East.

It trains Muslim fighters to kill British and US troops.

The next paragraph tells of the fears that al-Qaeda has about the plague's spread among the various terror training camps. The problem, as I see it, is that a plague-infected terrorist (or several) could easily go on a suicide mission among unknowing victims in the US or Britian, and there'd be a lot of dead victims before BHO's gang would know about it, much less actually do anything about it.

Lucky for us the plague is very treatable. It only has about a 15% mortality rate now.*

*unless you are a dumbass terrorist living in nasty conditions with a bunch of man raping losers in the middle of a desert.

I just hope that this happened because of natural reasons and unsanitary conditions that they live in, and not because they are trying to use the plague as a weapon against the west.

Difficult to know if they were trying to use this as a weapon. However if they were it is quite the worst way to do so it is so low tech and is more or less a suicide technique.

Did a little research.....there are several different types and ways of spreading the plague. One is airborne and 100% deadly if not treated within the first 24 hours after exposure.

Glad I'm not in Washington this week.

I wasn't aware there existed a vaccine against it.

When I was roaming around the socialist paradises of the workers and peasants with free medical care for all (good God, it's been ten years and more now--I just realized that), one of the few times I was barred from going in to see something, even bribes not working, was at a village in southern Russia.

Roadblocks and armed guards all over the place.

I wasn't just turned away; because of my blue-and-gold passport, I was actually put into an automobile and driven away, about twenty miles.

It was explained to me, reluctantly, that it was the plague.

I thought my God, free medical care for all, and this medieval disease.....

One wonders how free medical care for all deals with ancient diseases.

Well, out of all the shots I received for all kinds of stuff the one that always intrigued me was the one (actually 3) for Bubonic Plague. Now, it could be that some doc was pulling my leg but he sure didn't seem to be. We were inoculated for things I had never dreamed existed every 3 months because the 82nd Airborne was able to deploy anywhere in the world within 24 hours soooo .... they kept us up to date on all kinds of weird stuff. At least, that is what we were told.

Bubonic plague is curable and there is a vaccine. It rarely spreads person to person, but the victim has to be quarantined because the pneumonic form is highly contagious.

Beej, can you explain to me how so many moonbats, Like Livingstone, get elected in England? I read Brit papers all the time. Hell, Drudge links to them all the time. From what one would see on the MSM, you'd think the entire country was f'ed up, but from reading TONS of comments by Brits, on MANY stories, hell, it seems they're just like me. Then again, if you didn't have CC or CU, how would you view the states? Especially given current events?

I guess it's kinda like the analogy of the sqeaky tire getting the grease. Conservatives, being individualistic, don't protest. We're more prone to spend time with our families. Liberals are collectivists. They get their identity from a special interest group. So, that's what the MSM sees.

I get the impression that those who are like minded in the UK are merely shouted down by their more unhinged counterparts on the left. And sadly, they seem to have a stranglehold on the govt. I could not live there.

The psychological effects would have been as severe as the physiological, they say. I almost wonder if the al-Qaeda people got their hands on that, and it got out of control.

Considering the state of Sov . . . I mean, Russian science nowadays (with nuclear secrets almost for sale), it wouldn't surprise me to hear that some Russian bio-warfare guys were trying to make a buck or two.
