Oh my.

The sparkling husband primitive, trying to eject a big one, after all the haemerrhoidal exertion of single-handedly moving an enormous chest freezer, still full of food, from the basement to the back yard:

"We haven't been able to screen the speech"

That is the reason cited by one Maryland county school board for what is, in actuality, CAVING IN TO WHINY RIGHT WING ASSHOLE MOTHER****ERS.

Congratulations Harford County School Board for winning the COWARDLY ELECTED OFFICIALS OF THE MONTH award. We hope you wear it in a way that makes you look as stupid as you truly are.

13. they don't care what it says. they just don't like obama and so whatever he says they don't like.

the man could come out and say that the democrats are stupid and the republicans are right and we should have prayer in school and they would object.

9. That had on some inbred Harford Countian who said he didn't want his kid .....

...... "indoctrinated into Obama's Agenda. That health care thing."

I suspect this man's parents were relatives as close together as were this man's eyes.

About as close as the crossed eyes of the sparkling husband primitive, who's still straining to eject a big hard one that won't come out.

11. I read it and liked it.

If a school board is saying this, it's because they haven't "seen" it, to guarantee that it matches the script. They are covering their asses. Not the best way to handle things, but perhaps they get more lawsuits than some, and don't want their liability insurance to go up.

The school board, and the superintendent, are there to minimize political and legal damage in these kinds of scenarios. School boards are elected by the communities they serve.

Will they allow the speech to be shown after they've screened it?

14. We are reaching a tipping point.

30% of the population is tumbling into overt looneytunes racist radical rightwing idiocy, openly promoted by a media controlled by corporate elites. This is not good.

Wow.  We're thirty-percenters.

15. Text of speech online now

It has been released. The Board has time to review it and see that their actions have made them look like fools.

19. Here in HoCo, the system has left it up to the individual schools.

My daughter's school will not see it (Middle School), yet the elementary school she went to will get to see it. I sent emails to both.

When Bush spoke to students [at a SINGLE high school --MSB], Democrats investigated, held hearings
By: Byron York
Chief Political Correspondent
09/08/09 7:11 AM EDT

Unlike the Obama speech, in 1991 most of the controversy came after, not before, the president's school appearance. The day after Bush spoke, the Washington Post published a front-page story suggesting the speech was carefully staged for the president's political benefit. "The White House turned a Northwest Washington junior high classroom into a television studio and its students into props," the Post reported.

With the Post article in hand, Democrats pounced. "The Department of Education should not be producing paid political advertising for the president, it should be helping us to produce smarter students," said Richard Gephardt, then the House Majority Leader. "And the president should be doing more about education than saying, 'Lights, camera, action.'"

Democrats did not stop with words. Rep. William Ford, then chairman of the House Education and Labor Committee, ordered the General Accounting Office to investigate the cost and legality of Bush's appearance. On October 17, 1991, Ford summoned then-Education Secretary Lamar Alexander and other top Bush administration officials to testify at a hearing devoted to the speech. "The hearing this morning is to really examine the expenditure of $26,750 of the Department of Education funds to produce and televise an appearance by President Bush at Alice Deal Junior High School in Washington, DC," Ford began. "As the chairman of the committee charged with the authorization and implementation of education programs, I am very much interested in the justification, rationale for giving the White House scarce education funds to produce a media event."

14. We are reaching a tipping point.

30% of the population is tumbling into overt looneytunes, strongly approving Obama's job performance, openly promoted by a media controlled by corporate elites. This is not good.

Well, the content wasn't released until Labor Day weekend, surely these champions of organized labor can't expect the much-put-upon school staffers to blow their own family time on expediting this little BS parade.

FWIW I don't have a problem with a Presidential address to schoolkids, however the Oministration was their own worst enemy in how they handled this.  The "Pledge" video (Aka "Ich schwoere mich an Barack Obama") was totally out of line and hit the bovine excrement hit the air impellers over that right about the time the speech was announced...then the Oministration decided to be quite opaque about what was in the speech, not releasing the content until after the end of the last school day before the address.  The whole history of the thing creates every appearance that there really was a problem with it, and a hasty re-write was necessary to take the crazy stuff out.

Sounds like the primitives didn't pay attention to Bush41 when he gave his speech to a school.
