Some Democrats are pushing the party to move closer to the center, according to a new report, after President-elect Trump won swing states across the country and even won the popular vote.

They’re in the middle," Democratic National Committee (DNC) committeeman Joseph Paolino Jr. told Politico. Another Democrat said to the outlet, "I don’t want to be the freak show party."

"I’m going to look for a chair who’s going to be talking to the center and who’s going to be for the guy who drives a truck back home at the end of the day," Paolino said.

The solution has always been known, but they aren't willing to do it. Joe Manchin should be as far to the left as the Dem party is willing to go. Anyone in their party that's to the left of him should be told to take a hike, that they aren't wanted. Citizens who are that far left certainly don't deserve to have a seat at the table. In fact, they don't deserve to have their voices heard at all and need to be cast into the political wilderness. If they lash out because of frustration, they need to be punished. There's zero reason to let them have any influence over anything at all. They should be considered "persona non grata" only because there isn't a Latin term for "a person who doesn't deserve to exist".

I've lurked and participated on scads of forums over the years but one of the unique characteristics of DU is how much they seemingly like to "brag" about what mental ailments they have and what psych drugs they're on while simultaneously claiming to be the most sane people. It's the definition of irony and why it's such a great train wreck to watch.
