Well, color me shocked. I thought for sure Nads would be in the top two. Well, she came close, extremely close. This tells me Lady Freedom Returns finishes #2, and Doug wins DOTY. Bank it.

Doug is hardly deserving of a #1 or even a #2 finish, in my book.  I hope Amber is big enough to stop the walrus from attaining first place.

I'm clinging to the hope that all of the weighted votes I saw going to Amber in the campaigning thread will be enough to put her over the top.

I should've thought to include that in the Top DUmmie award, or in the Nadin Abbott award.

The cousin's done more than God's done.

I am guessing 1 or 2 will either be DainBramaged or Lady Freedon Returns. I think Dain will be number 1.

The fallout from her not winning will be felt all the way to Tijuana. She's gonna go spastic.

Well, as soon as I find the address, I'm sending a copy of the award to Miriam; maybe it'll be reprinted in the East Orange News, or whatever it's called.  It's another feather for their cap.

Cousin It had already dusted and made room on the shelf next to the Pulitzer for this 1st place finish. 3rd place is insulting.

On the bright side she will be made aware that the award is not hers by default. She will need to earn it. She might apply herself with vigor next year.

Maybe that should be Pittycism.  :-)

Anyway, back to the subject....

Well, this has surely been a downer of a year for the top DUmmies contest.

Ever since I got to #04 Top DUmmie, the lurking primitives have lessened considerably.

There were a lot more coming over earlier in the contest.

I guess it's because there's no more "cool kids" up, after cali and :jugs:  :yahoo:; only the nerds.

We'll know sometime New Year's Eve, when the Top DUmmie of 2013 is announced.

By the way, Skippy over on Skins's island is pissing me off so much there might be another new award, in between #02 Top DUmmie and #01 Top DUmmie.  It depends upon how much energy and imagination I have.

Good.

They are the entertainment and that's all they'll ever be. We decide who gets to shine and who doesn't, not them.

Them coming or not is of no significant; a reflection on the fact that primitives are of no real life significance.

I dunno.  I'd like to have a little bit of excitement here New Year's Eve, as I'll be frozen in (forecast high of -8, with 40 mph winds).

I haven't made a final decision yet, but I'm contemplating a possible Margaret Carter-Bartholomew Scott award, the "Peggy & Barry," for the most-annoying primitive(s).

If I do it, and if it flies, we can put it up for popular vote next year; because of the pressures of time, this first time, I'd have to determine the winner(s) myself, after a quick consultation with Mr. Wiggum.

I'm not promising; I'm just saying I'll think about it.

It's forecast to be -8 degrees here on Tuesday, New Year's Eve, with high winds; the coldest winter in Nebraska since 1983.

I hope to get the Top DUmmie award written and posted before I have to go out, because inevitably I'll have to go out.

Too bad Skinner didn't give her the TS, she might have taken it all... :-)

I've seen recent allusions here to her being schooled by Skins.  I missed that entirely.  Anyone have the backstory?

1. I'm going to be blunt.

The problem here isn't the jury system. The problem is you. Sometimes it takes a while, but eventually most DUers figure out how to get along with other DUers. My suggestion is that you try to do it too.
