Tulsi Gabbard Proposes Plan to Ban Ballot Harvesting for 2020 Election

Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) has introduced a plan to effectively ban ballot harvesting ahead of the 2020 presidential election.

This week, Gabbard introduced the Election Fraud Prevention Act, co-sponsored by Rep. Rodney Davis (R-IL), that would amend the Help America Vote Act of 2002 to ban federal payments to states that allow ballot harvesting.

Ballot harvesting, which a Michigan judge cleared for use in the election on Friday, allows political operatives to collect and deliver as many ballots as they want so long as they are not paid based on the number of ballots they deliver. The loophole allows these operatives to be paid in most cases.

Rep. Rodney Davis (R-IL) is also sponsoring it. With all the mail ballots and allowed to be collected after the election is a bad idea.

Nevada’s June primary shows huge issues with mail-in voting. In Las Vegas, Nevada, more than 223,000 mail-in ballots were deemed “undeliverable” in the election — about 17 percent of the total number of mail-in ballots sent out to voters, unsolicited.

Federal election data reveals that since 2012, about 28.4 million mail-in ballots have gone missing in each of the last four election cycles. According to Pew Research Center analysis, there are potentially 24 million ineligible or inaccurate voter registrations on state voter rolls.

Recent data has not shown a compelling public health justification for mail-in voting. In Wisconsin’s April election, only 52 of more than 400,000 voters and poll workers were confirmed to have contracted the Chinese coronavirus. None of those cases were fatal. This equals an infection rate below two-hundredths of one percent.

Tulsi Gabbard Is Backing A Ballot Harvesting Ban Tied To A Right-Wing Conspiracy

Despite finally fading into the shadows after a contentious presidential primary race, it seems former Democratic presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard has foisted herself back in the spotlight — and she comes bearing conspiracy theories and aligning herself with right-wingers. Surprise!

A new Twitterstorm headed Gabbard’s way after the Hawaii Representative reinforced backing Bill H.R. 8285, better known as the Election Fraud Prevention Act (EFPA). The bill, which she first introduced earlier this month, aims to discourage ballot harvesting — but there are a few caveats to Gabbard’s support.

Ahead of the November election, the representative expressed serious concern over states that are legally allowed to practice ballot harvesting — a practice that allows third parties to collect and deliver people’s ballots in some parts of America. The EFPA would ensure that ballots are handled by election officials and mail carriers, and in certain cases, family members, household members, or caregivers.

Sigh. Tulsi Gabbard is not a right-winger. Whiskey Tango Alpha Foxtrot?????????????  :???: :wtf2: :mental:

Gabbard aligning herself with Project Veritas is troubling for many reasons, but particularly her choice to help spread disinformation to push her own political brand. Very little research is required to find that Project Veritas is a verified right-wing group specifically known for producing and distributing, deceptively edited videos to make organizations on the left look bad. James O’Keefe, who heads the project, is most infamous for pushing fabricated evidence about Planned Parenthood — videos that showed the health care provider “harvesting” organs and body parts from aborted fetuses and selling them. All of this was disproved.

To add fuel to the fire, the newly released videos that Gabbard refers to as capturing alleged ballot harvesting are actually completely devoid of any real evidence. The video that Project Veritas released purports to show political operatives in Minneapolis, Minnesota illegally carrying out the practice, as accused by controversial community figure Omar Jamal. Jamal accuses Ilhan Omar of being behind it all, despite total lack of evidence, and the alleged ballots not even being tied to her race. Beyond the lack of evidence, it’s completely unclear when the videos were taken, and a preliminary investigation by The Daily Dot also disproves the Jamal’s credibility as an expert.

'Way too rational to be a successful Dem on the national level.  It's a pity she's anti-Second Amendment and far too invested in nanny state welfare ideas, but I suppose that kinda goes with the whole Hawaii deal.

She's too liberal to be Republican, even a RINO. She's to conservative and good looking to fit in with Democrats.
