Chicago's murdered children
"The number of children who are dying here in the city of Chicago is astronomical," says Black Star's director Phillip Jackson, quoting the figure of 605 children shot – wounded or killed – in the city over the last year and a half. "Stop and think about it: these are children! This is a catastrophe. And it's happening right in front of our eyes."

By his reckoning, some 13 soldiers from the city have died in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. The number of children lost to violence in the city during the same period is 290.

Former presidential candidate the Rev Jesse Jackson tells me: "These are Baghdad numbers. These are war zone numbers. People are being killed, one by one by one. Children are traumatised, living in fear. Yet we are growing immune to this level of slaughter."

Of the 605, roughly 600 were gangbangers.
Chicago is all the better for it.

If only that were true.  Gangbangers are notoriously bad shots and it the bystanders that get hit.  I think it has to do with being cowards and preferring to shoot someone by doing a "drive by". Then there is that whole retard ed issue of holding the gun sideways like they're a badass or something.

You're right that they are lousy shots, and sometimes plug bystanders. But when gangbangers are shooting at one another,
the chance that a bystander is an innocent bystander is slim. Once in a coon's age, an innocent kid is hit by a bullet coming
through the house. Most of the time, when an urban youth is shot, accidentally or not, the shooter is simultaneously guilty of
murder and performing a public service.

Those are not legal gunowners, there is no real crime problem with legal gun owners

I couldn't find anything more recent, but here is a listing of Chicago's "murdered children" through March of this year.  As you can see, the vast majority of the children were in their upper teens, and most of them were 17.

I'm certain that if it were current, it wouldn't be too terribly different.  I suspect that many of those killed were in fact involved in gangs.

.....and that's one of the main reasons I'm not a Democrat. Not a Republican either, but I don't hold them in such utter disdain as I do the Dems/"Progressive...err...Communists".

I look to any medium to major city that's ran by Dems and it's a shithole. All of'em.

This is one city/state where the NeoComs can whine all they want about those eeevil guns on the streets, but since Chicago is the NeoCom's poster child for the kind of gun control/registration/prohibition they want to enforce everywhere else, their whining and bitching dramatics about the need for more gun control needs to fall on deaf ears (no pun intended, Frank.)

Strange we don't see the Boston Irish gangs hitting their own.  Italian mobs well yes they have been known to do that as do the Asian and Latino gangs.  The Russian gangs are a problem but I find few Eskimo gangs in the lower 48.

Call it whatever you want Jukin, Rose sent a link that shows how horrid life is for kids trying to survive life in a big city.

Nothing new, if one looks back on conditions in New york in the 1880's these people who have no choice but to live in those conditions can  and in some cases do become Animals.

The cities with the most gun violence (Murders and not accidental shootings and such) are in those cites and towns run by...................Democrats.

Why do we have prisons in the first place.?  Are they there to punish people for their actions or to rehabilitate those gone astray ?

Some of our prisons, jails remind me of boarding schools, TV. air conditioning, 3 meals a day,   with family being taken care of and no worries about them----[ not to mention some facilities have weekend conjugal visits-----Yippie, sex with the wife or girlfriend.

Then I wonder why the young kids refere to jail time as going on a vacation.??
