Mic check, my fellow cavers
« on: November 27, 2011, 02:46:04 PM »
I've been thinking this OWS thing over.

First, some data points:

* Apparently, they represent the 99% and that includes us, even though we're the upper 53% of that 99%.

* They also want larger crowds for media presence.

* The General Assemblies are open to anyone.

* None shall be turned away because this is supposed to be "real democracy"

* the GAs require 90% up-twinkles to pass any resolution.

We're hygenic enough to not worry about lice or scabies, STDs are self-inflicted and they could certainly use some non-rapists in their ranks. So that's a win-win.

So why don't we mobilize our Tea parties to participate in the GAs. We have depth of experience in real-world problems and solutions from defense to business management. We can guide their meetings, using the 90% rule to insure the more inane solutions never see the light of day. Let's face it, they have PR problems with their policy recommendations. They seem too irrational.

We, on the other hand, need the attention of the MSM and politicians. They refuse to look at the TP directly so if the TP can get its, "Repeal ObamaCare" and "10th Amendment or 2nd Amendment - You choose!" signs on camera we get the exposure we need.

Get your local TP together, grab you signs and seemlessly blend-in.

They need us.

I wouldn't team up with those clowns if they paid me.
I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

They'd either run home crying in a pot induced haze, or they'd get violent in a drug addled, enraged frenzy. Both are not pretty, but the former would be pretty funny.

But how can that be?

They claim they represent the 99%. If they threw us out it would ruin their entire narrative.

It would only reinforce the detractors of OWS who claim they are the same single-party dictators would-be Marxists the world should fear; a label progressive strongholds such as DU rejects.

The world is, as they are fond of saying, watching.

No, no, my good friends, I must believe OWS would welcome us with open arms.

They've made it very clear that they don't care how bad they look to the public, and that their "99%" slogan is a total crock. They'd abandon it in a heartbeat for the sake of silencing dissenting views among them, without any regard for how it would cause normal people to hate them even more.

It's the basic 'We've got jobs/lives/better things to do with our time' issue, MSB, even before the 'Associating with flea- and lice-infested hippie ignorati' problem.

Scabies and lice will attach to clean people too. It's proximity driven. So keep a hygiene distance and don't even stand where the filthy hippies have been because they will hibernate util a new warm body is found.

The OWemeS are just bigger parisites than scabies and lice.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

Our Tea Party actually tried talking to these morons, and invited them to their meeting.  This Yahoo story makes it sound quite civil overall, but I highly doubt it.  I missed this meeting, and sadly no one has offered up a real firsthand account.  As for going to their encampment, I'd gladly send my ex-husband in my place, if you get my drift.

Freepers join ows to block their super majority run Assemblies.
Edited on Thu Dec-01-11 09:27 PM by dameocrat67
This is from Brad Bloghttp://www.bradblog.com/?p=8952

A post on Tuesday on the hard right Republican website Free Republic suggests that opponents of the Occupy Wall Street movement may well be injecting themselves into the demonstrations’ open consensus process in order to confound the objectives of the nascent movement.

“eed LA Freepers to show up to block this vote by the Occupy LA General Assembly,” the poster identifying him/herself only as “joinedafterattack” wrote in apparent hopes of scuttling a discussion that night about a proposal being negotiated with the LA City Council to trade 10,000 square feet of office space and some farmland with demonstrators in exchange for their voluntary exodus from the lawn in front of City Hall.

The call by the rightwingers to take part in a General Assembly meeting at OccupyLA for the specific purpose of blocking a proposal (one that was rejected, in any case, by the majority of demonstrators that night) exposes the vulnerability of Occupy Wall Street’s “consensus” decision-making and an internal contradiction between a movement which rails against rule by the 1% even as it permits the one to block the will of the many…………

This was predictable. Nobody has ever explained to me, how a movement that opposes wall street corruption does not become answerable to wall street corrupters by enforcing a 90% or more supermajority. Nobody has every explained to me, why they would not join the protests to block all their anti wall street moves. Well they are. I wonder if this is the reason Ows doesnt appear to be accomplishing anything.

2. Tea Party has no constructive answers.

Only sabotage.

It's very sad.

The party I believed in is now run by fundamentalists, war-mongers and Tea Party dildos who know nothing about economics.

4. Herein lies the conundrum of democracy, either direct or representative.
If you go with 50% plus one, you can have 51% of people make a decision that the other 49% can't abide. See Bush vs. Kerry. If you require a broader consensus, then a small number can block the majority from accomplishing anything. See United States Senate, 2009-2011.

I prefer the words of Napoleon in times like this:

What would happen if the other 98.98% showed up and told them to pound sand?
Interesting thought.

The OWSies bowel movement is over.
People see it for what it is.
Turd in a punch bowl.
Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”

WTF is this?  Extortion?

Interesting that the DUmmies are starting to recognize the pitfalls of 50% + 1 guy.  The Founding Fathers knew all about that; and they also knew that the human being was limited and very, very flawed.  Some people are stupid, and others are just plain evil.

Then one has die hard Conservatives that were once living the good life.

2 incomes allowing for a home that in case of disaster one family member could manager's at the time of purchase.

401K comfortable making small but sure money, this for the the pph worker, overtime a happy time.

Small business owner,  First 2 years until one gets out of the red, unless they are a government contractor, then the sky is the limit.

Long time business owner doing well, encouraged to take out loans to expand operations when there is really no reason to do so.

Then disaster strikes, after 10 years or so the once affordable home needs 2 earners to pay the huge energy costs, the 75% increase on property taxes and one of the earners becomes ill or can no longer work.

Small business owners see their customers cut in Half to buy at Walmart.

Long time business owners that were in couraged to take out loans find that their clientele has gone else where.

To top it off the hard working and saving in the 401K plans now  of their money for the future has disappeared----

I wondered why just 15 years ago my company no longer would deduct from pay checks for Government Bonds.    Ah yes the 401K people came in, placing people in the position that they had to go themselves to a bank to buy bonds.-----In fact they paid off the bond holders to invest in pay roll deductable 401K.

BIL was paid the penalty for taking money out of Bonds to get his 401K set up, all so easy, taken from his check each week, no longer could he get payroll deductable bonds.---He went from 100% guarantee into the stock market that took 50% of his money.

How many people understand finance and the stock market????   How many of us understand banking practices and know how to invest wisely ??

From what I have seen even the sophisticated were taken for millions, people that knew the ropes were sand badged by Cooperate America.

Then one must figure in the millions of Americans with absolutely no knowledge of finance that became poor due to duping of their company's or placing their trust in those better educated then they, that today see on the streets now as poor as they are . Very hard for a Conservative to watch 40-50 years of work, thrift, and denial to go down the drain.

Will not surprise me if the Conservatives will not join the libs at some point, nothing about wanting free stuff, we just want to be able to keep what we worked for all these years and not have our earnings stolen by a thief in the night.

Shades of the depression, never trust banks, keep cash in a mason jar buried in the garden or in a sock under the matterice. If one can not pay cash for anything then do without.
