"No poor person ever gave me a job"
That statement is one that the “right-wing†always throws out when confronted with the failure of “trickle-down†tax-cuts for the wealthy. My sister-in-law, who has had her brain turned to mush from inhaling too many fumes from Limbaugh’s waste-hole, threw this at me the other day. I responded; “and a poor person has never fired me and then drained my pension planâ€.
It shut her up and it caused me to try to come up with some more arguments to counter the “No poor person ever gave me a job†crap.
- No poor person ever charged me a $5 fee for the pleasure of holding my money.
Would that it only cost me $5 a month. I pay thousands a year to buy food stamps for lard asses.
- No poor person ever denied me medical care because I had a pre-existing condition.
But they do drugs and contract social diseases and then demand I pay for their care.
- No poor person ever foreclosed on my house.
They demand Section 8 housing and if I can't meet the tax burden I lose my house.
- No poor person ever shipped my neighbor’s job overseas.
Maybe if he had a job of his own.
- No poor person ever tripled my interest rate because I missed one payment.
Maybe he's poor because he reneged on his promise to repay the money he borrowed on a promise.
- No rich person ever "gave" me a job either...I got it because my labor had value.
If you're so ****ing valuable why are there still poor people? Shouldn't you be doing more for those who have less?
And like Elizabeth Warren said; “no rich person got rich without the society and infrastructure we all helped to buildâ€.
The infrastructure that never could exist unless people with money paid for it. After all, somebody has to make the payroll for all those public workers.
