Parody, yes, but I've seen every one of those sentiments expressed at DU at one time or another.
Not so fast my friends, I have a friend that actually attended a rally in Oakland much like this one.
It was a once a year rally party for the Hells Angles that drew thousands of members world wide of the club for a weekend of fun and relaxation. The rigors of running drugs and declaring war on other Clubs that they wanted to push out to wrap up the area in drug dealing for themselves.
My friend told me that he recognised not only Doctors but Lawyers and a few up and coming Comunity Leaders in the group----the weekend riders.--The weekend riders left their colors at home as not to be identified with the group----Like the Southern professional that keep their sheets in the closet.
Everyone needs a break, be it thugs, murders, pedophiles or bankers.
It was only the very few Rat bikes that came well worn, the majority cost $20,000 bucks with another $3,000 in dressing.
These bikers are not poor folk, some how they find thousands of dollars to get a fat boy gas tank painted.
My friend loved the party, he rides a Harley 1985-6 fully dressed. His wife and kids are on welfare as he is disabled and cannot work. Poor fellow had not had a vacation from no work in a year and cannot wait for next year.
Satire, no way, actual fact, if you have the balls to head for any biker rally, even in the North, the money spent on these Iron Horses and the people that attend will amaze you . Only difference in the Berkeley rally and the bikers rallies all over the country is MONEY------ Berkeley draws in the poor looking for free food and drink, Biker rallies that as some say---draw in the dregs of society but the wealthy dregs of society.
Last one I went to would not allow anyone in without a tattoo, smart asses.
